Rutherford should bench Sullivan a few games. Let Todd take over. That would shake things up. - Grinder47

I can't remember who wrote this, but it sounds like Roslovic might get 2nd. We still have one of those.

Jesus Christ, Ruth needs (frank)ing fired or a thicker pair of glasses. Zucker has looked like the best player on the second line... - 668710
Yeah, I don’t think Zucker gets moved. |

He's probably worth a 2nd. So does this mean Matheson is out for the year? It better be a good dman otherwise (frank) it. |

I get that we had an unlucky go of injuries, but I can’t imagine a worse use of assets right now than a defenseman. We have too many of them, three just happen to be injured. |

I love Rusty but if Ruth really would actually try and move him he should snag up Roslovic for him...but hopefully the rumor is BS |

Yea I agree, wtf are we gonna do when they are all healthy? Unless Matheson is out for the season, but let's see what we have in POJ first. |

This is the problem. In a longer season they could ride it out. As much as I like Ruhwedel, I don’t envision a Marino/Ruhwedel 2nd pair being that sustainable.
I wouldn’t trade a 2nd for a dman, but I think they need to do something. |

I'm not saying take forever but very soon maybe even the next Rangers game if POJ looks good tonight bump him up with Marino. |

Imagine that, the Caps may have derailed our season because they look for the late, cheap hit. Why does this happen all the time? Why do no Pens players make hits like this, or even respond in any way? I'm done with Sully. JR is now going to (frank) things up for good. |

Even if Matheson is out for the season, if POJ is NHL caliber we are still 8 NHL defensemen deep. You really can't hold onto many much more than 8 unless you have guys on ELC that are waiver exempt. Given that our top 4 is intact and Pettersson is only out short term, this really should not be a priority. |

Parlaying Penguins over at 6.5 and Leafs/Oilers under at 6.5. I don't feel good about this one. Let's see how it goes. |

If Sully were smart he would load up the top line and target JJ (we're the home team so we get last change). But he's not smart so we'll probably run out the 4th line against JJ and make him look like Bobby Orr. |

Hopefully Pettersson is short term, you never know with concussions. If it actually was a concussion, was that confirmed? |

Hopefully POJ can pull this out and stay put on this team. The Pens optimal d lineup could be...
Dumo-Tanger
Petts-Marino
POJ-Ruh |

This would be great and normally you could ride this out. It’s not like the Pens need a legit 2nd pairing guy. I think a serviceable proven bottom pairing dman is what they need. Ideally a rental. This obviously easier than it sounds, but IMO the only situation they should move on. |

Idk if Winnipeg would have the cap space if Rust was traded, but I could see this being a multi player swap or just a draft pick trade for Roslovic.
I wonder if JR would do a shake up type trade involving Rust in a one for one type deal. He seems like the most likely candidate.
With a quick look at wing for wing trades with similar salary/previous history of being available.
NJ - Gusev or Palmieri
Min- Fiala or Greenway (cap retained)
Ana- Rakell
LA- Iafallo or Kempe
Maybe a Winnipeg trade would be Copp or Lowry with Roslovic for Rust and a pick to make the salary work.
I have a feeling we were looking to deal Pettersson or Matheson to Winnipeg in a deal or maybe a pick. |

Same. And Kap showing up to his new job and gasping for air on every shift? I take back some of my anger of Sully playing ERod over him (but not for putting ERod on the top line which should never happen, ever).
Not to let the players off the hook, but why weren't the strength and conditioning coaches on top of this? I thought Sully ran a tight ship? - Hockey66
To be fair Kapanen wasn't allowed on an ice surface before Sunday from the tine he traveled, so no way he was in game shape after one practice. Don't think that means he wasn't taking care of himself, but he was stuck in a room for about 2 weeks then playing an NHL game a couple days later. |

I think people are undervaluing Rust. Yeah, Roslovic is younger, but Rust will only be 30 when his deal expires. Sure, Roslovic could have a higher ceiling as Rust's ceiling was probably last season, but there's a good chance Roslovic never becomes anything more than a bottom six winger. We could easily downgrade in such a trade.
I would feel better with just a pick/prospect going the other way or have WPG add a player if Rust is to be included.
I'm pretty sure Matheson is untradeable unless we are getting back another bad contract. Petts may have been on the block, but I have come full circle on him and would rather keep him. |

Ok, I was wondering about that. Seems like NHL should have had something in place to allow players to safely train while in non-infected "quarantine." Maybe it's not even up to them, I don't know. |
