While I personally think the rule that the players can't visit each other in their rooms considering they are playing hockey together and sitting next to each other on the bench etc is really stupid... It's not as if they didn't know this going into this season.

If they didn't like it, they should've opted out of playing. The NHL is trying to take every precaution available and while some of it seems a tad over the top, I can't really blame them, and this punishment shows they aren't messing around.

Rules are rules are rules.
Follow the damn rules.

Not one single case when they were bubbled in a locked down compound.
But it's different now, now you've got travel, hotels, more potential contact points with people NOT in your bubble. Other people IN the hotel. Grubby snot fingers presses a button or holds a dirty hand rail, some hockey player gets infected returning to his room. Fine. He's there alone, he masks up the next morning and gets tested (every morning) as is the protocol (positive case just him). OH WAIT...he wasn't in his room alone. He was in Jimmy's room, with bob and mick and fred. Now he's exposed or infected them all. Potentially none of them realise they have it and whammo a whole team goes down.

For the love of just.....our love of hockey. Can we cut the politics from this site? Please. The rules are so we can keep playing hockey.

Given that it's already a shortened season and that fact that these guys are already allowed to be in a locker room together.

I don't see any issue here personally.

As I'm okay with the league fining the team because they have to set that standard for the rest of the league and I think a fine for the players would be okay as well.

But at the end of the day, get them tested, make sure they are safe and get them back on the ice. It's better for the players, for the league and for the fans to have them playing.
