Don't be fooled to believe the Flyers have a good offense. Its one thing to score goals against Pittsburgh with a struggling Tristen Jarry, but its another thing to score goals against the Bruins. They are extremely well coached defensively and have very strict structure that provides multiple defensive layers. If the Flyers win this game, its going to be because they were very strict and patient with their defensive system as well, similar to what the Islanders did to the Bruins last game. If the Flyers do this they may win a 2-1 game. If the Flyers play like they have been playing, the Bruins could have a break out game 5 on 5 and it will get ugly quickly. - jd250
I agree that the Bruins are a tough team to play and score against. The Flyers have shown that they can score and they were a top 10 scoring team last season. I think you're wrong about the Flyers having a good offense. So far this season they need to generate more shots and have more puck time but there is no reason for them to not be a good offensive team again this season.

Zadorov is a free agent he would be a true rental. As would all the other players I talked about above. Worst case scenario of myers is on LTIR it would likely cost a 2nd rounder or B prospect. - Tfaehner
And why would Chicago, so early in the season, trade a top 4 defenseman for a draft pick? I would think the organization owes its fans some sort of a season before they decide to blow it up, if they even decide to do so.
Look, I don't see Fletcher making any trades anytime soon. He has got only 700K in cap space to work with and as some have mentioned, there is that expansion draft looming on the horizon. Maybe a rental becomes available at the deadline, but that is 2.5 months away. I don't expect anything to happen until then. The Flyers have not even played a preseason schedule yet, give the players some time to get acclimated. |

Oh yes, I agree, the Flyers should be a good offensive team, I just think so far this year I would not say they are there yet. I was responding more to the comment that we can afford to sacrifice some offense to put Morin in the lineup. |

19 more games they are half way through the season. No captain this year. No one said they are shopping him or are looking to trade. Most teams don’t unless it is necessity 4 games in. Just thinking about the future. Just mentioned Chicago as they are familiar with Gus. Yes they traded him.
I am willing to give Gus more time to adjust. Minus one game I have not liked his play so far. |

If Frost isn’t playing, how he gonna play on the PP? - SuperSchennBros
I didn't update. Lindblom will be on PP duty in his place. |

Is it panic time yet for the defense and its health ? A 3-4 game skid could mean missing the playoffs in our division. Theres no push overs or easy wins. - Tfaehner
No. Every team will have health issues - injury and/or covid. |

It’s Myers knee? Ugh. I thought it looked like his side (rib) or shoulder - arichardson22
From the first replay I saw that night I suspected knee/ankle. Watch after the hit, the leg goes weak. |

That second pair (even if it is just on paper) is the stuff of nightmares.
One more dman goes down before Ghost is ready and we may see Big Sam moving back to defense. |

I think it just looked like it could be the knee but it is the rib.

Exactly my thoughts. Broken ribs hurt, but they're only temporary. Torn ACL could be career altering and the start of many problems to come in the future a la Sam Morin. |

Really blows for Frost. His skill level was evident but he needs to play to adapt to the NHL game and progress. Just hasn't played much hockey lately. Really bad timing for the team and for him personally. |

Its clearly not without risk, but they come at you with waves of physicality. They saw the Islanders series vs. us....they know exactly how to come at us.
Very Heavy Game:
Ritchie, Frederic, Kurarly. Lauzon, McAvoy, Carlo, Miller
Moderately heavy (heavier than most of our guys):
Wagner, Smith, DeBrusk, Studnika and Coyle
I just dont see the immediate downside of a Morin - Laughton - Raffl line with Claude moving to Center vs. a Raffl - Bunny - whomever they slot.
Boston is sitting 6th so odds are they will be hyped. IMO- Game one I roll with Morin for some size and physicality as a small offest if things get bad and take advantage that he can play D on the kill. Pull him for game 2 if it doesnt wor out but if Im Boston im setting physical tone game one in hopes we tuck tail and come out gun shy game two. Just one man's opinion here...you dont have to like it or agree with it.

Yes. I don’t remember what but remember he had a few injuries a couple years back. Different things I think but not sure. |

does really suck, he played well, he will need to go school with G on how to avoid getting crunched. Agree him not playing was part of it and bad luck |

- juiced
You don't see the immediate downside to sitting out a superior player in Aube-Kubel for a player who has never played an NHL game at the position he is currently at and hasn't played a significant amount of hockey in two years? Interesting.

So the crux of the issue at hand with the defensive pairings is whether to keep the promising top pairing of Provy - Sanheim together or have them each anchor a pair for a stronger top 4. With them together, the bottom pairings could be...yikes!
