And I agree they broke the rules and should be punished.

But I'm bored because people who owe me work haven't sent it back to me, so I'm killing time, trying to spark conversation.

Tbh I think so long as they confine themselves to each other’s rooms they should be allowed to gather in their hotels

But that’s not the rules and when it boils right down to it the rules are what matter

True but he is now part of a very powerful elite defined as being Putin buddies. Maybe the contrast from one reality to another heightens the sense of entitlement now that he’s on the inside. I dunno

Based on science - significantly higher. The individual players are not exposed to identical threats when going to and from the rink. The larger the group, the greater the exposure to risk. For example - a simple mathematical model if an individual's risk is x percent going to and from the rink, the risk of two people isn't simply adding the risk factors, an order of magnitude (exponential) is generally used to calculate the new risk.

Two can be as bad as one. It’s the loneliest number since the number one.

That is also science

Man I’ve been out of the house for social reasons 3x in the past 6 months because I’m terrified that if I were to catch something it may push back my elective lobectomy... with today’s technology you can talk to someone in real time on a screen bigger than the tv I had in my bedroom as a kid.

It’s not that bad at all. You guys are making it out like the players are going to suffer irreparable emotional and mental harm from staying at home and no offence but that’s (frank)ing ridiculous

- Dozzer

I feel fantastic for you that you are able to have such a mental state in these times, and I truly hope you mean this and are not burying your emotions.

Try to understand human beings are in all sorts of mental states, it is completely unfair for you to act as if your mental state is the same as everyone else's.

And do you know what else? You dont have millions of people attacking you for miscalculating a step. You don't have your job performance, and daily life evaluated by millions of people.

I am happy that you are in such a strong state of mind, truly I am impressed considering the health troubles you mention to have, that is truly amazing. But it is very unfair to think that those around you have the same.

I'm not sure I understand your answer.

They spend significant time together - in larger groups. 20 guys on the airplane. 20 guys on the bus. 20 guys in the locker room. 20 guys on the bench and ice.

So why would 4 guys in a hotel room - after having been exposed to each other all day - carry exponentially higher risk?

I'm not trying to be an arse here - just trying to understand it.

But she’s mad because her husband is being punished for breaking clearly set out rules... the one at fault here is ovie and his teammates plain and simple

She’s misdirecting her anger tbh

- Dozzer

I don't see her saying they shouldn't be punished.

She is sparking conversation on a topic that needs to be addressed. Sometimes you don't know the situation you are in until you are in it.

Under these circumstances it is trial and error and rules must be adaptable or this season will not work.

A more than valid point.

However I just don’t have it in me to feel bad for guys who agreed to these terms just a couple months ago and make thousands of dollars per game

They had their opportunity to voice their issues then and failed to do so... so now it’s either comply or don’t play.

Now we’re getting somewhere

It’s not so much of a “should we break the rules?” as it is a “how do we break the rules and not get caught?” situation

I'm on to my next angry rant:

Amazon is making $12 jillion a day in profits.

Can't they get a few more box sizes so they can ship stuff in better fitting boxes?

I just got a box bigger than a shoe box, to hold something about 1/4 the size inside it. It also had two plastic air bags inside to keep the new coffee filter I ordered from breaking.

News flash: it wasn't going to break. It didn't need the additional plastic.

I'm drowning in cardboard.

Why did it even need an outer box? The franking filter already came in a box. Just slap the damn shipping label on it and away we go.

Too bad.

You don’t agree to terms on a deal and then decide to break them because you don’t like them.

What the NHLPA should do here is approach the league and work out some additional leniency formally. If the league refuses to budge then I’ll give the players a little more of my sympathy

this I can agree with... Ordered coffee pods for the Nespresso machine and the box was 10x the size of the pack of Nespresso pods.

The question I have, though (and it is a sincere question - not a rhetorical one):

Based upon how much time they interact with each other, what is the added risk in them spending time together in a hotel room?

- Atomic Wedgie

I'm thinking its to discourage outsiders joining in? Only thing I can think of. I don't think it makes any sense that they can't spent time together in a hotel room (just the players). They sit shoulder to shoulder in the bench for 60mins a day, change in the same change room every day.

In communist agincourt we didn't have a tv in the entire house until I was 10. It basically took a revolution to get one.

I like 95% of what she does.

It just drives me nuts that ALL reporters in ALL sports do this.

The first step is acceptance.

Or...is it forgiveness?

No maybe acknowledging the problem?

Ah fack

Isn't the first step denial? Then anger, then bargaining, then sorrow, then acceptance?
