does Barabanov draw back in since his cap hit is similar to Thornton's? - dmnted

It's not like almost all the teams are against the cap. Why would Leafs have cap room with their talent?
https://www.capfriendly.com/
13 teams have less cap space right now No one is aware because only 1 team's cap is known league wide.
Canucks wow. Petterson and Hughes will need to be signed... |

Canucks are in a mess, but will be ok.. Only Leafs players don't sign bridge deals, they'd rather hurt the team.. Both Petterson and Hughes will sign shorter deals to help the team |

We keep shooting it in our own net and the sv% won’t improve either. - Garnie
In fairness to Freddy that game wasn't his fault, nor the fault of the defense. There are saves that a goalie can be proud of, and similarly there are goals that goalies should be ashamed of. First goals on both sides were the latter. Freddie flopped around like a fish on the deck of a boat and let in a softie. That said Leafs can't expect to win against Edmonton scoring one goal. |

Leafs so far not giving up a lot of shots
shots for - against
32.2 - 25 (+7.2)
5th in leage is shots against per game
Team sv% .887
Also pucks not going in yet (quality down so fa), maybe soon they can reverse the sv and sh % - senstroll
So legitimate question...
In the event this trend continues and the shots against are among the leagues best, can Fred's poor SV% still be blamed on the defence by all those who take criticism of the goaltender so personally?
Asking for a friend.
*disclaimer* I don't in any way blame Andersen for the loss last night. Talking big picture here... |

Last night's "penalty":

yup, poop happens
Leafs could have shot the puck against a sub-par goalie a lot more, but the goals against were not egregious. Sucks they lost but I'm not super disappointed by the game. |

What a snoozefest last nights game was for the most part.
Hopefully a little more intense on Friday.

I just watched that goal 3 times. He didn’t flop at all. He was down, in position but unsure which way the puck was going to come out so he was in an extended butterfly. Double deflection and into one of the few spots not covered. He went onto his stomach after the puck went into the net.
That was nothing like the Leaf goal.

The PP goal was bounced off a leg to the far side. Not sure what you expected of Fred, but yes we didn’t create near enough with how many times we had it in a good spot. IMO

I agree, it was a decent game... Simmonds hit the post, Spezza flubbed it on the empty net, and the winning goal deflected off of Puljujarvi before it went to the stick of Draisaitl.. With that said, the Oilers caught a break as that should not have been a penalty on Muzzin |

sucks that the Leafs lost, but the bounces/calls didn't go our way.. It happens some times. I thought the Leafs were the better team overall. |

For someone who seems to pride their liberal view points and tries to project a certain inclusiveness regarding difference of opinions, you sure do turn into quite the cynical arse the second someone says something you have a differing opinion about. 🤷♂️ |

Why is nobody asking the question, "What the frank was Vesey thinking when he tried to clear the puck through our crease on a PK?" |
