Coach Sullivan on Kapanen: "It's not an easy thing when you've been in quarantine and you've been skating by yourself back home in Finland, but not really being in a team environment for a long time. He's only had two practices, one with the taxi squad and one team practice
That's a tough challenge for a player. We didn't want him to put him in a difficult circumstance, so that's why we started him on the 4th line. He got a few shifts with Sid's line and he had the odd shift with Geno's line, but we tried to manage his minutes
We're going to have to find creative ways to get him up to speed. This was one way that we talked about that we think can expedite the process. I thought he played pretty well tonight. You could see his explosive skating ability. He ends up helping out on one of our goals."

If Sully actually believes this he needs to go asap. |

Haha that wasn't meant to come at you. I have no probs with you haha. But that's what I would say to Rod if he started pouting. |

I thought it was ridiculous. I was thinking maybe he would keep Kap on the 4th line for just the first period. Nope. |

Roslovic would be a nice pick-up imo. Nothing wrong with middle 6 guys with versatility, speed, and some upside.
I'm a sucker for players that bring a lot of energy and he fits that bill...even if he is a limited player. We need as many guys like that as possible to avoid becoming listless.
Seemed like Riikola or POJ would be good trade candidates for Roslovic until we had all these D injuries. |

POJ looks pretty damn good. Not sure I'm parting with him. We have so few prospects, I wouldn't let any of them go. Riikola....sure. Picks...sure.
People were talking about Legare. No way I'm trading him. I've seen him in camp too. He has qualities the Pens need. Big body. Tough to move. Wicked shot. He's got some Hornqvist in him with a better shot. From what I've read, he's also a tremendous locker room guy. |

Yea I agree. We'll see how this season goes. But if they are gonna stay all in, may as well keep Rust. - 668710
Yep. I'm not as down as some are, but if I get to the point I don't think they can even compete after this year, I'll look to start regaining some assets. But if I think they have a punchers chance which I still do, I let Rust play out his contract. |

But will Legare be ready this season? Next Season? It's not like we're trading him for Marleau haha. Roslovic is young and ready right now and can help the end of the Sid/Geno era. |

Agree. POJ probably has more upside then what you'd get for him in a trade right now. And now that he's getting his shot it seems, he might be hard to take out of the lineup.
Legare isn't a favorite of mine, but he definitely has lottery ticket upside. I don't know that what you get for him is worth giving that away either. Not for Roslovic. |

Honestly, we should probably make sure we have a starting goalie before we dip into our limited assets. Kapanen, Rust, Tanev, ERod/Sceviour isn't that bad. Roslovic isn't going to make the difference if some other things don't straighten out. Not sure he's much different then taking a flier on a guy like Jankowski. |

Any interest in honka, considering all the injuries to our defense. Was just placed on waivers. |

He's a RHD so unless he can play the left not really, and most RHDs can't because they're never asked to.
Hopefully at least one of these guys will be back shortly. Don't mind giving POJ a look at all. |

I wouldn't trade any major assets for Roslovic. Knowing POJ looks ready or at least close to being ready I'd be fine with moving Riikola, but no way do I think the Pens should give up any of the Pens better prospects. Now, if they're going for a major upgrade then sure, you consider moving guys like Poulin or Legare. |

Having the depth at forward will help. If we have winger or center injuries were better off having Roslovic than Rod stepping in. It would give us 2 fill in center options, not all on McCann. I wouldn't spend big assets on a goalie anyway even if Jarry fails. |

We can't move any of our defense at this point. Legare or Poulin won't get us anything major anyways IMO. I think when Legare is Roslovics age he'll be about the same player. That's why I'd make that trade. Legare is nothing more than a Roslovic so why not get the ready version for Sid and Geno's end years? |

I see what you're saying, he just doesn't move the needle enough for me.
We're averaging 4.5 goals against per game, so another 3rd line forward doesn't feel like a major need atm when Tanev has been fine. |

Yea the goals against are very glaring, but I see that as a combo of bad team defense/some softies let in, which I think they will clean up.I know you aren't sold on Jarry so we'll have our differences and that's ok. So I'll pose this question. If it's Legare and maybe a later pick for Roslovic, would you do it? Or do you just not like Roslovic's game? |

Not sold he'd be one of the top 9 or 10 forwards on the team. Be worth taking a flier on, I just wouldn't pay much to take that look. |

I don’t think it makes sense unless Erod is part of the deal. Whether it’s in addition to Légaré/pick or whatever. Don’t need so many 4th liners. Especially with zar coming back. And it would prob then make a wash of the dollars. |

Yea gotcha. It just reminds me of Zucker, Ruth set his eye on him and I feel like he's coming here. If so he better not cost a lot of assets. |
