And Konecny with a hattie the other day.
Leafs haterz will say it was a dumb move by Dubas and Co, but they forget we also got Bracco out of the deal. - Atomic Wedgie
I feel like it went down this way. Hunter was making the picks, he was taking dermott... so Dubaz said they can trade down and still get him...they did.
all a guess of course.
but should have ten Aho |

I agree.. I would even add Jumbo Joe to the list... Matthews and Marner seem to be playing a bit more physical too - PatC80
Makes sense... it’s easier to play confident when you know there’s on your team who have your back |

True but it's our big 4 that will bring us to that next level. What team can match Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Tavares? Tampa and that's it. - RogerRoeper
Yeah but those 4 need the guys around them to play hard and let the other teams know that if you touch them you’re in for a bad time.
It’s an understated fact that team toughness opens up the ice for the star players |

There's a reason he hasn't had a sniff at another GM job.

I like the joke, but if we're being real the Leafs would have either picked Dermott there or gone with Juulsen or Larsson. They clearly wanted a defender there. - AdamFrench

After taking a quick look it seems like anyone he drafted outside of the first 2 rounds hasn’t amounted to much |

I like that Bracco was a steal Dubas selection until he wasn't and then another Hunter bust pick.

I watched that about 10 times last night - couldn't figure out who the cheap shot artist was.
Compelling case on both sides.
Although from the reactions afterwards, it sorta seemed like Marner was the guilty party.
Edit: I'm assuming this is taken right after Marner scored the empty netter. |

He appears to have drafted by size. So many untalented plugs. That's why I cringe when people want Dubas to draft by size. It hasn't worked for the Leafs. |

You're never going to hit a home run in later rounds on your picks. But to be able to have 2 or 3 good players outside the first round to help your core is huge. |

It hasn't? Their prospect pool looks far better. Dubas is simply drafting BPA. |

I know that Mike in Buffalo would have you believe we have 50 prospects, but c'mon.
Sandin looks good.
Liljegren is a question mark.
Robertson looks fine, although Leafs Nation has vastly over-rated him.
What else do we have? |

I think the cheapshot came from the guy that took more than 5 strides (charging), attempted slew foot, kneeing, and still somehow almost hit him in the head, while not even attempting to go for the puck.
But maybe that's just me. |

A little bit early to be writing off any team.
I see 6 teams finishing very, very closely to each other.
Let's not get too cocky just yet. - Atomic Wedgie
4 games coming up against the oilers. After that both teams will have a better sense of where they stand. |
