Save a few missteps by Trouba who is apparently still having an issue adjusting to 1st pair responsibilities, He’s not going anywhere and frankly, the defense is not the real issue with this team.

The forwards are a mesh mash of highly skilled players, a lot of square pegs, in search of a round hole. Once again, the message from the coaching staff is, north/south hard to play against. Well, the problem is they aren’t. Kakko had numerous opportunities to go the net last night, instead, opting to skate wide rendering himself useless. Strome has never been anything more than a 4th line player, who enjoyed success as the breadman’s wing mate last year, but the bloom is off the rose. Buch has made strides, but he’s trying to play a game he’s not familiar with. I’m not sure where Chytil fits, and neither do they. Lemeiux and Gauthier are certainly willing, but especially iGauthier needs a bigger roll. This line jumping of Quinn’s, is annoying and counter productive. That bings me to young Laf, who is suppose to be an elite prospect, after 3 games I see no evidence of such a lofty title. Although, I blame Quinn here again.

I’m concerned for the long term health of Zib, way too many concussions, and it looked like he may have suffered another last night. All the more reason to be proactive and try to acquire PLD, not just for now, but quite possibly the immediate future.

The Rangers as constructed will be exactly what we see, when the game is fast and center ice is open they can skate with anyone, but when the middle gets clogged and they have to fight for every inch of ice, they’ll be worn down.

I’ve come to the conclusion Quinn is not the right man for this team. His ideas are on a college level, and appears to be resistant to coaching the team he has. As far as the front office goes, I didn’t like their approach to this season. They’ve given the players the idea that this season is 56 game tryout. That’s a recipe for failure.

Sorry, but this statement is ridiculous.
3??? 3 (frank)ing games is what you give this kid before deciding his fate? That is just plain stupid and I've seen enough to know that you aren't that.

We all need to (frank)ing chill the (frank) out and give these kids a (frank)ing chance to learn where they need to adjust and where they just need a little experience.

Can't agree with this more. Also don't forget in a normal year he would have had a full preseason to get ice time and get acclimated as well as things like Traverse that he likely would have participated in.

I mean, is Old School's Lafreniere comment worthy enough to even respond to? it's just absurd

I actually agree with him about Lafreniere. Doesn't mean he won't be one by the end of the season, but after 3 games for someone who came with the "franchise" label, he hasn't done anything that has stuck out. Just saying for all the hype, there hasn't been anything there yet. Maybe he is settling in, maybe he is just concentrating on other areas of his game. I don't think anyone is deciding his fate, but the three games he has played have been underwhelming for someone who was hyped up as a franchise/generational talent.

Take it easy Tony.

Perhaps not, but it is an all too common sentiment, up and down the line up so far.
Three games into a season that had no pre-season games and a 10 day camp and we've already heard how Quinn needs to be fired, LAF is a bust, Shesty might not be what he seemed, Johnson is impossible to win a game with, the system is poop, etc...

It's (frank)ing infantile. Shut the (frank) up and just watch or not.

I couldn't disagree more.
He has not looked out of place since his first PERIOD in the league!!! Dominant, no. But, he has fit right into the flow of the game for the most part.
Forget about "franchise" for (frank)'s sake. The kid got NONE of the usual pre-opening night experiences that a rookie usually has to acclimate him to the best league in the world. He didn't even get to see the arena he is now calling home until a few hours before his first game.
What is the rush to have ANY sort of opinion about him????????

I don't think we're watching the same games. He hasn't gotten on the score sheet yet, but he's doing everything else PERFECTLY. Couldn't disagree with you more.

On one hand, i agree on the no-preseason and short camp as a factor. On the other, it doesn't seem to be hampering the teams we've played

It's really an issue for rookies more. Guys who have been in the league even a few years will mostly be fine. I know to some extent off season stuff is meaningless, but I almost guarantee even in a place like Traverse, K'Andre and Laffy would have been able to start developing a chemistry on the ice with each other. Preseason heavily featuring Chytil and Laffy would have done both wonders.

Who said there was a rush. My opinion is I haven't seen much from in three games, especially with all the hype. I'm not allowed to talk about the 3 games he played?

I think you are reading way too much into what I said. If I said Trouba (frank)ing sucked last night. Does that mean I'm making a judgement about him for the rest of the year?

Thats fine, I disagree. Not sure why I can't have an opinion about the 3 games he played without getting labeled as calling him a bust or that he isn't good?

I agree. When you're that type of #1 with the hype, I expect to notice you a bit more. I do blame quinn though for moving him to his off wing instead of letting him learn where he is comfortable and has played

Exactly. Why I want to see Laf and Kreider flip flop.

And I think I have been posting long enough that anyone who knows me, knows I give youngsters a hell of a lot of leeway. When 3/4 of the board wanted Chytil out of here, I was defending him.
