I'd pay like $10 to hear Butch and Sam do a game together

First win at the coliseum against Boston since 2013. Boston no even strength goals in three games to start the season. Huge win.

3 games .. 4 points. just caught up on all the comments.. wow. You are a very unhappy group.

Isles kept everything outside which certainly helped Varly get his shut out. I don't remember any break-aways or odd man rushes. Dobson still shaky but played a lot better than last game and a few times you could see him thinking about pinching and instead got back. ... it will take time.

I wonder what Trotz will do with these lines. Bellows and Ross played less then 6 1/2 minutes. Martin only played 7 1/2 minutes. meanwhile JGP played over 20 minutes as did Brock. It's nice to have him fresh for PP and PK but not using that 3rd line at all doesn't seem like a great idea long term. I wouldn't be surprised to see Uncle Leo in next game.

Depite Dan saying our Forwards stink again in comparison to theirs... we had a ton of really great chances. some Break-aways, point blank shots, and a couple of Odd Man rushes... we just didn't seem to hit the net. the 2-on1 vs. MacAvoy was a heck of a recovery by Long Beach's finest.

Devils up next.. I'm sure according to Dan they are better... (uncle)

Is Eberle playing? He usually does so well against teams like Boston.
- ses111

That one play where Barzal got him the puck wide open in front I was baffled at why Eberle moved to a worse angle. He should have stayed right between the dots. ended up a blocked shot. He is streaky so let's hope he heats up soon.

Good kill, Mayfield with a nice hit at the end of it.

Leddy has been one of the better Islanders today

I thought Greene had a very good game too. He had a few really solid take aways.

Insights from Butchie:

"That's what makes sports such an interesting game is that teams that are supposed to win sometime don't."

- JimmyP

I love Butchie... Yes he messes up names once in a while but he is very quick to laugh at himself and 99% of what he says about the Islanders is spot on... "Need to get the puck in deep there..." " Have to shoot more on the PP and stop with all of these passes through the middle".

He is a bit of a homer at times but I like that too.

I'm very happy Islanders won but let's be honest they did not look good. Islanders had lots of turnovers. Boston is having trouble scoring which helped.
