Flyers put ghost on non roster status and recall Bunny. Not unexpected but doesn't sound good for expecting ghost anytime soon. He must actually have the vid.

Every time Ghost smells “trade” or “scratch”, somehow avoids moving anywhere at all. I guess we’re stuck with him.

It is the most mutually beneficial for ghost to come back and play good hockey. For either trade bait or to keep in philly. Nobody is going to take salary without a ROI right now.

Yeah the Sabres have had some really rough UFA signings. Remember Ville Leino - we basically got him for nothing and he ended up putting up once-in-a-lifetime numbers tying Dino Ciccarelli's rookie SCP scoring record playing on a red-hot, offensively stacked Flyers team all the way to the Cup finals.

If Ghost can get back to his 1st 2 seasons level of play - his contract is not bad at all. You can see what's going on in the NHL though - teams up to the cap - the shortened season and salaries in escrow - things are super tight around the league. Flyers are playing with house money regarding Gostisbehere IMO.

I think his girlfriend/wife is a PICU nurse at Penn. Maybe she brought it home with her.

There’s such a dearth of good dmen and depth on teams that ghost is certainly valuable, and if you do move on, you don’t sell low. Once the injuries come and they will, a lot him in. Hopefully he plays well and if we move on then we get a good return

Another 2 goals for Bobby Ryan! Nice job Fletch going after him for the league minimum

Also had 19 goals and 50+ points the next season in RW2/PP2 spot then cashed in with Sabres as a UFA.

Who are you taking out of the lineup for him right now?

I'm concerned about how team defense is going to suffer without Coots in the lineup. It certainly looked bad against the Pens in the 2nd win without him. We'll see.

I’m sure we’ll feel his absence. But the team needs to find a way and we have better forward depth than we’ve had in a long time.

With our forward depth, we didn’t need to take on a ufa contract even if it is a league min

Id be happy with an in the middle performance. Doesn't have to be season 1 or 2. But at least back to being a pp qb and descent defensive play with breakout passing. He needs to at least be Mark Streit

The other team should be worried about matching up with us

I am extremely happy for Bobby and glad hes doing well. Hes playing with Zadina and Fabbri. Hes also playing pp. He wouldn't be in that same position here.

All good points. I hope he excels in Detroit. Also, he’d be under more of a microscope here being a local guy etc.

Yes he has; Ghost has carried Hagg when paired together. Hagg is one of the worst defenseman in the NHL.
- Striiker

Last year Ghost and Hagg had similar number of games and similar points. You say Hagg is so terrible... How do you explain the huge difference in +\-??? Ghost was a -4, and Hagg was one of the better players on the team with a +14. They’re both defenseman, there job is to defend. +\- isn’t prefect but it’s a good indication of whether a defenseman is doing his job. Some offense-defenseman can make up for a terrible goals against with scoring more goals. Ghost isn’t doing that. Hagg won’t often light the lamp, but neither will the other team. I hear/see a lot of ‘give Ghost a chance’. What about give Hagg a chance, he’s young - two year younger than Ghost. Unlike Ghost, Hagg has slowly improved year over year.

Hes in a good place. We seem to forget that our team doesn't have any "openings." We have forward depth for days and have a few guys knocking like frost bunny lacynski allison who aren't far off from being a nhl regular. On defense we have York and zamula however I havent seen if York can play the right side. Im thinking it ends up provy - myers and York- sanheim cause sanheim can play both. We could stand to upgrade but the upgrade would have to be significant. 30+ consistent goal scorer. Or solid rhd top 4 that we preferably don't acquire until after the expansion draft.

I agree that they were struggling versus the Pens without him. But, they tried to replace him with G taking double shifts. They were playing a man down for most of the game. It should be different with full lines and at least one practice under their belt.

We better hope so. Boston is absolutely demolishing isles in play in the first even without scoring.
