For those of you with with an Athletic subscription, Lebrun's latest talks about the NHL possibly adopting the "baseball schedule" in subsequent seasons.
Funny take in the comments section:
"As a season ticket holder in a non-traditional market that does not sell out every game, I would not like the "baseball style" schedule. It is a turnoff for local fans and serves as an invitation for other markets to acquire tickets here given that gas + tickets + food + hotel is less than getting the same seats in their home arena."
I'm a pretty die-hard Leafs traveller, but I don't think I'd want to go to two away games on the same weekend.
Maybe if it was at the end of the year, and those points were life or death, but even still... |

So when Max told Muzzin he was never going to walk again, that was softening the blow? |

LOL Leafs fans will take over every series in any remotely desirable location.
So Winnipeg, Edmonton and Minnesota are safe.

Unless the other team prevents them to do so.
I remember the Habs facing Ottawa in the playoffs and they'd make a rule that only a small percentage of the tickets could be bought from adresses from Montreal.
Because obviously we'd overthrow their fanbase in a second.

I would strongly consider planning vacations around the Leafs schedule, I'm not gonna lie.
A Vegas trip with 2 or three leaf games would be awesome. |

I've seen games in 17 NHL cities (including Toronto).
The problem is, most of the easy ones are gone.
Only Washington and Carolina left in the East. Washington is easy (cheap weekend hotel rates there).
The Western Conference gets trickier.
I've done Vancouver, San Jose and Chicago.
Vegas should be easy. Same with Calgary (my wife sometimes travels there for work).
I've always wanted to go to Denver. Seattle is a cool place, and we have a friend who now lives there.
Nashville is definitely on the bucket list.
After that? Slim pickings.
Maybe Dallas. Maybe Arizona. Anaheim and LA also in the realm of possibility.
After that?

Nashville has a similar rule - I can't remember it exactly, but something about tickets can only be sold out of state 30 days prior (IIRC). |
