Fury Road is arguably the best action film made this decade. (Raid 2 is pretty nuts).

Fury Road is definitely up there, somewhere after Sicario

I liked Lost Crusade.

Never liked Temple of Doom.

And I have no idea what you are talking about with Crystal Skull. I simply can't remember anything about any movie ever made with that title.

No idea.

Whatsoever.

You mean they played better after JT Marner came back and the sched got a bit easier.....noooooo.
- Garnie

You mean the time Marner, JT came back and they immediately lost Rielly and Muzzin for even longer..

When Lou got credited with the 105 point team Leafs had no major injuries and were 2nd healthiest all season. That's irrelevant though...

Yeah last crusade was great.
Temple of doom was awful.

And Crystal Skull exists, because it is the bar by which the new Indiana Jones movie will be judged. If somehow the new one is only a bit better (or equal or worse), I'm storming the Capitol.

I'll never understand how counting all shots on the ice for and against - even the ones from the point that hit a winger's shinpads and never get within 50 feet of the ice - is considered "advanced statistics" - but counting goals for and against while you are on the ice is considered a waste of time.
- Atomic Wedgie

It is worse than that.

+/- is apparently the worst stat of all time

BUT... Goal differential 5v5 is a good stat (I think empty net and pending penalty goals are eliminated?)

Can we still call them advanced stats after years of not changing, except some new ways of slicing and dicing the same metrics?

Not sure how accurate it is but Justin Bourne is reporting that aaron dell would retire if he gets claimed on waivers.

Temple of Doom does have some amazing stunt work. Cystal skull doesn't even have that. All CGI fake crap.

There's a new Xbox Indy gane in development with an original story.

Corsi certainly lacks nuance but it's definitely a more useful statistic than +/- as there are far more events to analyze.

Having said that, I kind of doubt Dubas, et al. use Corsi, Fenwick, or many of the advanced stats us plebs have access to.

Which is to say, holy poop I hope they do.

As someone who for years played beer league hockey with a centre who scored two goals a game, but was responsible for 4 goals a game because he never came below the hashmarks.

Trust me: +/- is a good stat in the proper context.

But if those events are inconsequential, why would it make them more accurate?

If a guy is regularly taking Jason Blake shots, that shouldn't be a positive.

“Advanced stats” are for people who have no clue how hockey is played, so they make up these silly stats to try to sound smart.

Of course +/- matters. Don’t give into the mob, they’re (frank)ing idiots.

I'd wager my life that Dubas and crew have a team of data scientists that use advanced statistical models that are far more complex and useful than 'advanced stats' that are compiled using arithmetic.

Can't quantify caresi though, or can you
