I would have thought that the NHL teams would be paying the salaries of those under an NHL contract.

That doesn’t address the pro-rated pay issue.

Q was stubborn and his teams got in a funky the veteran coach couldn't get them out of it the last few years in Chicago. Q doesn't like to use kids unless they are already good to go/not a Q trademark to develop kids. I thank him for his coaching but it was time for him to move on. Now it is ironic that his replacement is a "JC" level in terms of experienced coaches.

Late Add: interesting that Q had Forsling, and i ask again. May be more a statement of Florida depth on defense position and hoping Forsling with a couple seasons experience...has improved. If Forsling plays.....over Yandle....today's complaint is Yandle, tomorrow could be someone else. When you are short, defensively, someone is to blame. Yandle managed to stick around many years more for what he could do, than wouldn't do. Is that similar to a Strome situation....I don't know but watch and see if it is so.

Sad but true. For Hawks fans the most exciting part of the season will be the draft. There are other good things about the season (ie the development of the youth) but this draft could be the most impactful.

I’d still like to see the Hawks acquire Roslovic, they certainly could use him.

I am not sure who pays the salary of a player on a two-way NHL contract while the player in the minors.

Coach Queeneville Hinsdale house just sold for $4.3 mill, according to the story on WGN 9pm news broadcast Saturday. Look at Sunday Chicago Tribune too which regularly on sunday lists sports players houses bought sold. I had drove past a few times over the years; it is a very stately long white house (with a couple pillars I think) two level but it looked tall from the road. The house was roughly seven blocks south of downtown Hinsdale (think Burlington RR commuter train).. pushed back but not real far from the N/S road in front and 55th street was behind it. That is a 30 minute drive from United Center without traffic back up. I recall the tall trees and the area a bit comparable to a Lake Forrest home

Wonder how much Roslovic is asking for?

Wish we could trade deadline Murphy and our #2 2021 for Roslovic and their #1 2021. There will be a run on centers and dmen first half of round one; maybe Winnipeg middle of pack finish and Bowman could steal the Swedish goaltender

I remember about 2005 or so hearing about some good talent the Hawks had acquired. It was fun, not as much as winning 3 cups, but it was fun watching Talon piece together the roster. Using the #3 to get Toews then the #1 to get Kane. Then from there watching the team come together to become the best team of the hard cap era.

As for Roslovic, if the hawks try to acquire him I hope they don’t give up prospects or draft picks to do so.

Sorry to change the subject but I need to vent. Forget Brent Seabrook, Kris Bryant at $19.5 million is one of the most overpaid players in sports.

Or Brendt Clarke, Luke Hughes, Simon Edvinsson, Kent Johnson etc. lot of good options for first round pick. Don't think there is a consensus number one this year like Lafreniere was. I see Blackhawks drafting between 1.-8. picks depending on lottery.

New blog! A preview to the Blackhawks next two-game series versus the Panthers.

Is Kevin Lankinen up next in net or will the reins be given back to Malcolm Subban?

Could another rookie like Brandon Hagel or Nicolas Beaudin make his way into the lineup tonight?

True, but Power is consistently number one or two in the draft forecasting websites the rest of the guys are floating between number one to number five or six. I seldom look at size as a factor when acquiring a player but when that player is 6’5” /211 lbs (1.98 Cm/96 kg) is consistently in the top two of draftees, skates well and thinks the game at a high level plus he plays an important position it’s hard not to place him in the top.
