Av didn't have ghost on the top pairing for poops and giggles. He doesn't do things he doesn't believe in. And then I fully expect York to be on the flyers after Michigan's season (they are a favorite to win the frozen four). We have plenty of options going forward.

Sanheim provy myers are locked then you have ghost Braun hagg ghost friedman York zamula

If you trade for a top 4 with term you are taking away roster positions for guys like zamula York AND you have to protect them in the expansion draft leaving one our prized forwards like lindblom exposed. No thanks.

If you trade for someone like Savard are they really a major upgrade? Hes not significantly better than Braun. Better. But not significantly.

- Tfaehner

AV looked at several players on the top pair in camp did he not? Not reading much into it; plus Ghost is the best option if your keep the 2nd pair intact.

You hope you have plenty of options going forward. That being said going forward doesn’t apply to the present. Also your not taking away anything as you play the best players you have at your disposal.

If they are a defenseman away in their eyes come the deadline you make a move.

Are we a defenseman away from beating Colorado tampa and those teams ? Ghost and provy spent the bulk of time together until covid tracing for ghost came into play. I dont think we're a defenseman away personally. I think we need a lot of organic growth and a healthy coots to even have a shot.

Bill, in your opinion what seems to be the issue with this team generating shots in goal?

We have the talent and depth to generate a lot of shots per game, but this seems to be an issue for quite some time with this team. It was a real problem in the playoffs last summer.

Is it in the players heads thinking making that one extra pass first or is it the system?

There was this part of it that also bothered me. Would he also use that language in a NHLPA conference call? With Dave Scott? I guarantee you he has a filter.

Without getting into justifying whether Sielski was accurate or not or what his motives were, the fact that this occurred a year after incident, and was unprovoked, and in a forum which is public and televised, and unequal in the sense that athletes can say what they like and get the wrist-slap of a fine while journos would lose their job if they retaliated in kind makes me believe that Jake was, at least subconsciously, both enacting revenge and pulling rank.

That, and the unprofessionalism, does bother me. I hope he gets a good hard fine. And sure, I am not personally bothered by the language.

Having watched this dude for a long time, I think he is a very good guy, and has great skills in some parts of his play, but I also think there is not much between his ears. Dude is as dumb as a post.

- PT21

More of this bullish!t from you?

Enough already!

You annoy the best writer on all things Flyers, call Voracek dumb as a post, and spew your Progressive political views on a hockey board, unsolicited.

Really?!?! Who is dumb as a post now?!?!

You hide behind a keyboard because you lack the guts to say any of this nonsense in person, which is the real mark of a coward.
I can stomach those that disagree with what I believe, as long as you are not an a$$hole about it. You however, are not afforded the same courtesy due to you arrogant, pompous, and smartest guy in the room attitude.

I have an acronym for you. It’s STFU!

...and by the way, I’m not the kind of guy who hides behind a keyboard. I can back up my positions, any time.

I’ll take my ban now, as I really don’t post often, but sometimes, kabongs like you need an attitude adjustment.

Now, for the rest of you who prefer to talk only about hockey, and respect others’ viewpoints, I salute you all. There are some very good posters here, even ones whom I disagree with, but that’s what makes a debate interesting. Thank you for that.

And Bill, no worries bud, you’re the best, you’re appreciated immensely, and I have your back!

Keep up the great work!

Flyers usually look better than a bunch of strangers who just stepped on to the ice together for the first time... which is how bad their team structure has looked since the first R2P.
- Tomahawk

I don’t think they look like a bunch of strangers. I mean, maybe strangers to me. The Flyers I know normally have slow starts to their season. This isn’t the case right now and wasn’t the case in “return to play” last august. They have their issues but they’re still having a strong start to the season. I expect this to continue against Buffalo and I expect Vigneault to help them clean up whatever issues this team may have.

McCann gets a $10k fine and no suspension for a deliberate elbow to the head. The NHL’s wheel of discipline strikes again. What a joke.

It's simple... they don't have the puck enough.

Poor puck management, poor support and poor positioning... all lead to them throwing the puck away frequently and chasing the other team around for most of the game.

They're basically living off rush chances and PP right now.

Yeah. Considering the shortened season, our division, and the new faces; 2 wins and 11 goals is about as good as it gets.

Did you see how they defended last night? I have no idea how a group of NHL players, some who have been together for 3+ seasons, can give up so many horrible odd-man breaks and walk-in point blank chances.

I know that most everybody's still in preseason mode, and it takes time to iron out kinks... but I don't think some of these things we're seeing are simply rust. They got into a lot of bad habits after R2P and they're still pulling the same poop right now.

Luckily Hart has been awesome and the Pens have their own issues. Otherwise I don't think they'd be 2-0.

One of the things I find I guess ...both amusing and bemusing ... about guys like you is the extreme misdirection of energy.

If the general lament is that the world is becoming overly sensitive, overly feminine, overly touchy, etc. etc., wouldn't the appropriate remedy be joining the French Legion or something where you can truly relive more rambunctious times?

What good does caterwauling on the Internet do? Byt nvm, this is probably too deep for you.

I’m gonna need an explanation. The Penguins have a recent culture of winning. We haven’t in awhile, along with being a bubble playoff team. So how is it we didn’t look right, especially when we shot ourselves to the top in a round robin. So what do the Flyers normally look like?
- SuperSchennBros

Agree with you. Not buying it either. The Flyers had the same sort of trouble, and the same degree of trouble, as they did against the same teams they played 6-7 times in the regular season and never won in regulation.

This suggests the problems were structural rather than due to layoff or presence of infant children.

the dude is pretty much the head/face of the linux community it's definitely personal
who's to say Jake wasn't standing up for the team?

Keeping this company is sapping your mind as well.

In the angry video you posted:

1. Dude represents a movement.

2. Dude is going against a huge company against that movement.

Both of 1 and 2 above make it something beyond a spat between 2 individuals that have no such cause.

Ergo, not a personal tiff.

This Jake thing is such a non issue. Was there uproar when the nfl player said (frank) on Nickelodeon? Is there uproar when hot mics pick up players on the ice cursing? Has anyone ever turned on a television? My god this world is so over the top sensitive if people are up in arms over something like this.

Anyway, awesome to see them get off to a hot start. It’s critical in a shortened season so let’s see how they fare in the next couple.

- funmaster18

Some of you see it as no more than a cuss word on live tv. God bless you, more power to you, I am the last guy to be upset by that, though it should probably be avoided.

I saw it as a power imbalance move. I might be barking up the wrong tree here, buts lets at least get on common ground about the source of the objection. Mine wasn't based on sensitivity to profanity.

a strongly worded letter.

I will, needless to say, display the same mastery of verb and verve that you have so come to love.

The defense looks exactly what we should all have expected. We lost Niskanen and because of this fact, we’re a much weaker team. Personally I didn’t like the defense in either game but I think they’re working well with what they have to work with, if this makes sense. Just be happy that Carter Hart just might be legit.
