Hamilton wasn't really a star and reportedly he asked to be moved. Same with Kessel. Boston is the only team that seems fine in moving elite young talent.

Mitch Marner had 94 points at age 21. Still better than Phil ever has.

He's been a 90+ point type player for the last couple of years. He's a star.

Slow start but it's only been 2 games.

One wonders if Thornton and Marner is too much playmaking for one line. I actually think Thornton would be better on JT's line, if anything. Switch him up with Hyman if things don't seem to be gelling over the next 3-4 games.

That line seems like an ideal "checking line" with upside. If they can get the other lines working. Kerfoot, Soup and Hymen work hard and well together.

I'm guessing Hymen moves back up though

Simmonds has been as advertised - tough as nails and willing to drop the gloves. Just hope he gets a few better puck bounces.

Why? His reputation is at an all-time low, he didn't land the Caps head coaching job, and he's on the outside looking in with a gig on NBC which is probably going to get real ugly when they are pressured to get him to talk about all of the psychological abuse allegations.

I'm thinking Babs is wiping salty tears into his babsocks every night.

Matthews and Rielly for Jones and Dubois and some minor cap dump to try to balance cap.


Matthews is going in a couple years anyway. Change the culture in that room and Marner gets back to his old self.
