IMO, the JT and Kerfoot lines were alright ...not great ...but alright. The Matthews and Spezza lines were putrid.

Years ago in my youth I had some tussles with BeatleJohn. His M.O. was always to come in and pontificate from his soapbox. He always assured us Neanderthal-like masses that he was a friend to us all and only wanted to make sure that any optimism about the Leafs was erased by his knowledge and experience. So you think this kind of effort has only gone on for 2 games.

When Dubas signed him I knew it would be a disaster from the beginning.

What good could possibly come from signing him? Just an other stupid decision. He did NOTHING to improve the roster.

Of course not, but the fact that this team looks like their compete level continues to get lower is a reason for concern.

This isn't 2 games. This is not the defending champions. This is a team with 4 guys making 40 million or so who appear to be regressing, largely because 2 of them don't appear to give a poop.

I expect they will have a big game tonight and everyone will point out what I said, remember everything I said, but somehow forget any of don't-give-a-poop happened. A big game tonight will get them a split with the team everyone picked to finish last in the north.

Nevermind, Matthews is awesome, best player ever. He is definitely the hardest working guy on the team and not a purely one-dimensional scorer. You win with guys like him, not with guys like Kessel.
