personally I think we have the pieces to pull it off without including Kakko, I'd rather not
- jimbro83

Fair enough. What else would you guys move? There's some very obvious "no" young players, but outside of that I'm not sure there's anything that's going to move the needle for Columbus. I assume Lundkivst is off the table as well.

Speaking of those guys, really liked Fast last night.

They're using him on a line with J.Staal and Foegele. Real bastard of a line to play against. It was cool.

Marc Staal is washed. Dude looked like he had no interest in being there in Detroit by the time the third period hit.

somebody making 5 million has to go to Columbus if we acquired Dubois, so basically its either Strome or Tony D as part of the proposed package
- jimbro83

Can we send both?

I really would've loved to see the Isles sign him, he'd have been a perfect fit. Unfortunately their cap has less space than your GF's pants

talked about this with Jan the other day, and we differ on this, but I am willing to include Lundkvist in a deal for Dubois

the way I see it, the future right side of this blue line is Trouba, Fox and Schneider

we are dealing from a position of strength if we deal Lundkvist and we need center BADLY

Yeah, either one probably isn't to appealing to columbus, think thats where added picks would have to come into play

He's such a perfect 3rd liner who can move up if an injury occurs

I'd prefer to deal two forwards, however, to upgrade a great need at center, parting with Lundkvist will not doom our rebuild at all. Probably won't even dent it. I think we get attached to prospects very easily.

Not for me. I'm fine with him as a trade piece

Wonder if a deal of Lundkvist, Kravtsov and Strome would get it done?

I'd say, organizationally speaking, wing might be every bit as big of a strength. Panarin is here for the next 6 years. Lafreniere for a long time. Kreider isn't going anywhere anytime soon. There's some other mixed talent there, especially if Chytil ever moves out of the center spot.

Lundkvist seems to be having another strong season for sure and seems like he's a high-end prospect but I'm not CBJ is going to covet him too much unless they have reason to believe Jones and/or Werenski (even though he'll still be an RFA) want out after next season. I'd say Lundkvist is probably the only other really attractive centerpiece that the Rangers could offer though.

Highly doubt Tony D is wanted in CBJ. They have a pretty solid defense there, its not a position of need.

Strome may go the other way, but merely as a cap balancer and not for value.

I think add 2021 first rounder (top 3 lottery protected) and that's good

The problem is hes already a proven stud making him extremely valuable. I think that trade needs more, I know if I was CBJ, Id want more.

Not making excuses but that whole opening ceremony was enough to put you to sleep. I know they needed to do it but......it was pretty awful with no crowd
- tbreinold

The Opening Ceremony was a success simply because nobody tripped over the wire a la Andersson last year. Problem is , entire team tripped over the wire the entire game!

Yeah, it was such a complete failure. One thing I cant figure is Quinn likes a in your face style and I can't even remember more than 2 hits last night. Panarin's hip check and Trouba hitting someone. Isles had all the time in the world to make passes and skate around, its like they knew they were just going to be stick checked and didn't have to rush anything. Was like a cat playing with a half dead mouse
