I mean hes 25. He is a proven 25/40 guy at minimum. He's on a 5.9 million cap hit for this season and next. Hayes has in the past and can play right wing. And if its me I'd always rather invest down the center and on Defense/ Goalie and let your wings come from within. If you can move out jake somehow in the trade and get jvr taken by Seattle. You're looking at an insane lineup quite frankly. That being said its still highly unlikely. - Tfaehner
I hear what you're saying here but honestly, it's a little like playing candyland.
I do understand. And am pretty sure MF will get his chance along the line.
But that also means that he gets his chance if someone is not doing their job, as you put it, which in hockey usually means team is not doing great, because it is pretty unusual to change lineups when team is doing great. Or someone is injured.
Which means anyone wanting Frost to enter is hoping for poor results of team/injury to someone else. Frost is not a reserve type of guy like Friedman or Bunny. He has star potential upside, or so I learn from you guys. Which makes me think that if he doesn't make the line up by the time AHL starts or thereabouts, whether they wouldn't
just send him down to get some playing time. - PT21
Let me point out the stupidity here on your part. Those wanting Frost to play are not hoping for poor performance of the team or an injury to occur. Stating hypothetically what could happen to give Frost a chance is not hoping for bad things to happen to the team or a player.
I would also think that if he hasn't played by the time the AHL starts that they would send him down to get some playing time.
He’s on a different level then I have ever seen speed wise. Incredible goal last night we’re the d man couldn’t have played him any better and still got schooled. - landros 2
Remember this one from last year? That's Morgan Rielly being buried. And the thing is, until the last instant, McDavid is deliberately looking *away* from him.
Reminded me of another genius, also unbelievable at high speed, destroying a world class defender.

Doesn't Hulu also have a live TV package? I was thinking about maybe getting rid of Comcast after they raised prices on a bunch of things. - Ftown19125

I've read multiple posters post that the Flyers don't have a player equal to Barzal. Those posters are uninformed. Sean Courturier is a better player than Barzal is. He may not be as flashy but he has a bigger impact on the game than Barzal does. Team wise, in my opinion, the Flyers are deeper. Have a better defense and better goaltending. The Isles are a formidable team. However they are not a powerhouse team comparable to the Lightning and Colorado. Barzal is also not a superstar that people make him out to be.

Couturier’s lack of every game flash is like magic. What you don’t see is even more important than what you do see.

They kind of remind me of those good devils teams....on paper you should beat them but it’s easier said then done. - landros 2
What they really remind me of is those Sabres teams from the mid-late 90's. On paper they looked ragtag as hell, but the minute you got on the ice with them they would attack you in relentless waves, take all your time and space away, punish you physically (even though they really weren't that big)... and if you did manage to beat them, Hasek would just do handstands and kill all your momentum in an instant.
both of them also don't know how to take hits - 2Real

Another decent comparison. On paper the Flyers are superior, but the games not played on paper. Some posters just don’t understand the game well enough to know there’s a difference. The good news is the Flyers have he potential/talent to compete and hopefully beat the Isles this year.
Does this remind anyone of anything? A famous story in popular literature. - PT21
In this case, it strictly refers to Coots magical defense turned offense.

Tough to hit what you can’t catch. But you can’t teach speed and hockey IQ at that level....I think Mc D will toughen up as he gets older.

What doomed the Flyers last year in the playoffs was their dreadful PP, when you don't win the special teams battle in the playoffs you generally lose, since 5 on 5 two good teams are generally even. In the end the Islanders were better. We'll see if the Flyers have improved enough this year to get past them. Adding Gustafsson and getting Patrick and Lindblom back should help.

It was more than just the PP. The Flyers didn't have the same team game that they had before the stoppage.
Surprised we haven’t had folks asking to trade for Laine after last night . - ClaudeFather
I would still take him if the price starts to fall.
But Flyers beat this bad Pens team tonight 5-2.
I think Laughts has a big game. But our bottom 2 lines will show how deep we are tonight, and over the first 10 games in general.
We are NOT overhyped.

The Islanders were the better team. But to me the Flyers biggest asset going forward is the continued development and maturation of their young players. The kids are getting better and so are the Flyers. Obviously a healthy Patrick and Lindblom could be a game changer as well....this team is deep and only getting deeper.

I agree. The biggest factor was the horrible, momentum killing pp. you need that aspect if you’re going to go far in the playoffs.
Hart was better than he had been prior stoppage, and some players didn’t come back as strong (tk, g,), but the pp was killer. It was a learning experience for the young players.

This right here. We are not the same team. Not in maturation. Not in pure talent (lindblom Patrick back, also if ghost has indeed regained some type of former self). The isles as the collective unit was better than us and imo is until proven otherwise. Doesn't mean we won't but I prefer results to speculation. I guess I've just felt excited like this too many times. So im tapering my own expectations until our young team proves it.
