I'm all for PLD in Mtl obviously. but Suzuki isn't going anywhere imo.
most probably a summer trade. |

It would cost so much more than just Suzuki. Players like PLD don’t often hit the market. If Bergevin feels he has a shot at him, he’d move Suzuki in a second
A package built around KK wouldn’t even get Jarmo to pick up the phone |

If they want Suzuki, it’s a non starter as far as I’m concerned. Most modern French players struggle in Montreal. Dubois seems like a petulant kid. Suzuki & Romanov are untouchables as far as I’m concerned. |

Imagine having Tatar, Pierre-Luc Dubois and a 2nd for Pacioretty
Kidding, I love Suzuki but If Bergevin feel PLD is a must have, he will definitely try landing him here.
I remember in 2016 Habs were having a trade with the Oilers. Subban for 4th Overall which we were landing PLD.
It fails cause Columbus took PLD instead |

yeah, it would most likely have to be kk and Caufield. not sure CLB says yes.
CLB should fire their crazy coach, that's what they should do. how many players have they lost because of him? ridiculous. |

Almost always, when a team is floated as the "likely" trade partner, it is just fluff. An attempt to leverage the offers already on the table.
There are 4 US based teams that have the cap space, prospect and/or talent depth to do a good deal (Devils, Rangers, Ducks and Kings). Two Canadian teams (Canadiens, Senators). But as mentioned earlier Covid makes a cross border deal unlikely at this time.

I’d agree. Columbus holds literally no leverage right now. Habs would be crazy to include Suzuki or Romanov in any deal. Montreal should feel no pressure on rushing this kind of deal. If they don’t like the package Montreal puts together then just walk. Think Columbus is in for a rude awakening honestly. |

Yup.
No one wants to play for him unless you're bottom 6 guy like foligno because he plays them more than he should |

I could see Kotkaniemi going the other way.
Or Danault + Caufield + something.
But not Suzuki. |

i say let the seaon unfold then offer the least performing player, other than the fourth line guys. you can add caufield and anything else than harris/struble.
could be tatar or toffoli +caufield+ 2nd pick. or something like that
but honestly, it takes two to tango, as much as i want Dubois. |

young players on entry level deals are precious in this salary cap league. especially good ones like Suzuki and Romanov yes. CLB will get what they want, but probably not from Mtl.

Thats a hard no on Dubois for Suzuki. Hard hard no.
I would consider Kotkaniemi or Danault + + instead. Not that I dont think Kotkaniemi will be good, but Dubois is farther ahead in his development and considering Price and Webers ages, it gets you closer to having a team ready to compete |

I don't know, there was a guy who played for 40 years and now coaches 9 year olds or something earlier... |

exactly. if they want to win within 2-3 years, it would have to be kk and Caufield imo. CLB's GM is also a finn no? |

CBJ - we want Suzuki +
MTL - hard no on Suzuki
CBJ - we want KK and Danault
MTL - (assuming Danault still not happy) ok, but you have to take Byron
CBJ - (who has cap space) ok, but you have to include another asset
Dubois
For
KK
Danault
Byron

I do not think any of the Habs prospects interest Columbus. They will be looking for young and proven NHL ready talent, or can't-miss high calibre prospects. None of KK, Suzuki, Romanov, Mete or a combination of two or three of these will satisfy Columbus. Teams such as Anaheim, LA and Ottawa likely have more interested in Dubois and all have more talent available matching what Columbus is looking for. |

To be fair with Kypreos, he's the one who called the Subban/Weber trade... |
