Go Bills!

Slow down the run game, primarily the RPO'S and misdirections....gotta stay disciplined in their lanes and not over pursue.
Force Jackson to become more one dimensional (tough task)

Keep them out of the red zone where Jackson's ad lib run to pass plays kill opponents. Force FG's, do not yield TD's ( sounds so basic, but couldn't be more true).

Josh has to stay composed, go quick strike plays against Blitz's.
Daboll needs to find plays to burn an aggressive Dline...how about some screens
Johnny Brown and Diggs need to create separation, give Josh the opportunity to rack up completions and control possession.
Can Antonio William's get a couple of decent bulldozer runs to soften the rush?

They had 3 big runs, all in the 4th Qtr which constituted 80sh yards. Yes, those could have killed us, but to say the running game killed the Bill's is a bit of a stretch IMO. River's passing was far more of a threat all game.

We'll agree to disagree on that.
Yes to slowing down Jackson's running is certainly a big key.

So they happened but don’t count to fit your narrative?

That’s fair. I’ll give you that. I still don’t trust our run defense. Jonathan Taylor killed us last week
- Sabretooth9

taylor only got 3.7 yards per carry

hines gashed them in the hurry up

Go Bills! I really love watching JA.

Now, back to my second favourite hobby, biatching about the Sabres.

The Bad so far:
Eichel looks like me does not care. Scary. His peers are flying (mcdavid, McKinnon, ect)

Ullmark was the better goalie but still can’t make a big save to keep us in it. It’s always been his issue

No one can hit the net

Dahlin needs to carry coast to coast a bit more. His D has been bad so far

I was a big Ralph support but I think it’s time to find a real coach, promote him to Dof HO

McCabe should not be the only D man carrying the puck coast to coast.

VO is a marginal PP guy and that’s about it. I would trade him while he has value

Tage is not good. Period

Staal looks old and tired

Eakin is not good

The Good:
Risto is one of the bright spots.
If he can bring that physical play on a somewhat consistent basis, he is a legit beast

Hall looks good so far

Skimmer looks pretty good so far. Time for a promotion.

Joker looks good so far

Skunk played well, was forechecking more than most

Cozens is 19

Individual expected goal leaders (It's through two games) 5 on 5

1. Jeff Skinner
2. Tage Thompson

Goals will come for Thompson soon. People forget he was injured all year so these are his first two games in a calendar year.

I don’t disagree this is the case for most of our team. They are all rusty. Tage is not good. He puts no effort in to win a puck battle. He floats around the point. He’s 6’7 and solid. I just don’t think he has the killer instinct at all.
He will be demoted to the 3rd or 4th line, not put the effort in, and land back in Rochester where he belongs

They signed him to a 3 year 1.4 mil deal. He's staying a Sabre and staying in the lineup. They like him a ton

Tage is the least of our problems.

Just needs to be removed from the eichel line.

Let him be the puck carrier on a line with Skinner or Olofsson instead.

Did You Know? Quinn Hughes needs one point for 60 in his NHL career (8-51—59 in 75 GP). He can become the first defenseman in more than 27 years to reach the benchmark in fewer than 80 GP.

Dahlin was better at 18 years old though. 🙄

*Makar has 53 points in 59 games.

Currently WAY better than Dahlin.

I sorry to say this but you got 10game Risto blinders on. Dont panic. Its ok. It happens to many every year.

Soon we will be back to trade him for a bag of pucks. Risto has not changed and wont.

Will be back to banking every dzone puck off the glass to nobody in the neutral zone only to give the puck to the opposing team......

Good God no. Don't let him carry the puck at all. Go get open somewhere or park your sasquatch ass in front of the net.

You cried huge crocodile tears about ror.

You are wrong and live in a bubble, where all the Sabres are better than real superstars.

Skinner1000% better than. Lanie
Dahlin better than Hughes and makar.

Stop making posts that make you look like you do not watch hockey.

I'm not defending Dahlin, but Hughes didn't start full time in the NHL until he was 20.

That being said, Dahlin needs to show a little more urgency and attack more, and stop being so nonchalant.

Except I didn’t say he was currently better. I said he was obviously not better last season but their careers are far from defined

And Skinner was absolutely excellent last night with some top 6 minutes

Its also sad how much you think about me - tracking my posts over the years and keeping score. Kinda pathetic

Those lines look pretty good. Hope next game they come up with something reasonably close.
Dahlin needs confidence and when he gets it he will be very explosive. Someone like Chara would have been excellent for him.

Who has improved or have gotten better results under Ralph?

McCabe? Who else? Girgensons maybe

Montour and Dahlin were light years better under Housley

Miller was better in Vegas than here

Skinner better under Housley

He’s a bad coach

That's his problem right know, way to much stick handling, let Eichel or Hall take care of that. Tage needs to work the corners and get to the net.
