You’re not in 2018, because ROR and Eichel are two totally different players with different values and different meanings to their franchise

The Sabres traded Thomas Vanek, Jason Pominville and Miller (eventually) to rebuild the franchise and build around Jack Eichel. We’re in year 6 and we haven’t made the playoffs

Please don’t tell me they couldn’t possibly do a better job if they rebuilt the team again. It would be almost impossible to do worse

- sbroads24

Oh. They could certainly do worse! That’s laughable. Replace jack with a few picks that turn into a nylander, a mitts, a zegrapan, a Geigeranko, another Gus...

The draft is no sure thing. The prospects are no sure thing. To think you trade jack and you can’t do worse with this management team is laughable.

Find a real coach and real gm that are on the same page with using the assets of the team correctly (utilizing the mobile d men you have, playing your $9 mill winger on line 1, using your pp specialist on line 3, sitting the $6 mill stiff). And a common theme on how you want to build moving forward....

I didn’t read the article but I saw it briefly. If it is an old commercial or warehouse renovation to mixed use facility that is par for the course those buildings have been built prior to real standards and then left vacant for a while. I am currently working on one as an engineer and it’s a disaster and will take years to make it viable. I can’t imagine having the money to dump into those projects because you have to know you might not get it back. But again I didn’t read the article and may be way off
- IndianaSabresFan

There was flooding & major mold remediation needed in the building as well
It’s gotta be gutted to be done right imo

What happened to the Avs when they traded ROR? Or Duchene?
- sbroads24

If you think trading Eichel will lead to anything other than it blowing up in our faces like Wile E. Coyote, godspeed.

Roadrunner is right there! You almost have him!

This is the same kind of thing people said about ROR. I will guarantee that an Eichel trade makes the Sabres look silly, and I will even offer 2:1 odds for you.

If we trade Jack,
it better be for a Lindros like return

at a glance

I can't recall a trade of a player like jack given his age and term on contract that's been traded in forever

Stop, Eichel is no savior and this team will still survive without him, stop acting like the world will come to an end if they move him.

I think a top 8 or 5 depending how you view jack, is worth much more

So what is the result if we do worse. Last place? Where we finished when we drafted....Jack Eichel? You think the bad coach and Harbor Center GM stays if we finish last?

No, you’d be rebuilding everything

I’m not advocating for it.

The idea that they would absolutely just stay bad forever because they trade him is foolish

Oh I think it's an answer.

3 years after we trade Eichel you'll be sitting there with gunpowder on your face wondering how the roadrunner got the best of you

I completely agree and with your last post.
Couple exceptions:

Housley got us dale hawerchuck
Pierre turgeon got us patty la la
Peerless price got us a 1st from Atlanta

At some point though, it's just not gonna work.

The pegula's aren't gonna quit the Sabres.

Someone would have to be buying into a losing product and purchasing land, restaurants and harbor centers as part of a deal.

Pandemic and live sporting teams = bad time to sell

Rumor floating around that 716 is being sold
Idk to who, or if that rumor is true even though

So who won the Avs/Sabres ROR trade where the best peice the Avs got is JT Compher?

Where are the Avs? In forever purgatory or probably the best team in hockey?

Remember when they traded Matt Duchene?

The pick he was traded for is Bowen Byram who at 19 just played 25 minutes for them last night

McDavid is going for his 500th career point tonight, Eichel can't even get his 3rd goal of the year and had 1 shot on goal in the first game against the Islanders.
