But these things could absolutely both be true

If Eichel is traded there is no ROR package coming back

It’s going to be good roster players and teams #1 prospects like Byfield.

They’d more than likely have assets to totally redo the team

- sbroads24

I dont have the desire to participate in another ROR flamewar. If you think you'll come out on top of an Eichel trade, I think you're wrong. I'll leave it at that

Hey Ek, can we get a (frank)ing blogger please?

The result will be the same. We look like idiots and we get some version of a tall, spinning idiot in return while Eichel wins a cup

It’s just absolutely nothing like ROR. It’s franchise altering

You’d be constructing a brand new team with no Eichel, you’d be more than likely picking top 2-3 again and getting a top 2-3 prospect back along with NHL pieces.

It would be another total rebuild like after 2013-14

Oh joy!

I'll take a Thompson, two Girgensons and a Mittlestadt. No ice in my Nylander, please

Dude I’m not saying I want to. At all.

But the idea that trades can’t and won’t ever make your team better long term when your annually bottom 5 team would be completely reshaping itself is silly.

This is a failed build as it currently stands

You can.

The Islanders lost Tavares for nothing.

They shaped their team with a new core, coach and system, and were in the conference finals two years later.

The Buffalo Sabres will survive without Jack Eichel, people need to realize that.

Lou and Barry ... lou and Barry....

Trade. Move. Give the roids to any combo of players you want. This “team” will NEVER preform under current managerial leadership....

Change the managerial leadership. Change the team.

A REAL president.
A REAL gm
A REAL coach.

That’s the only thing that will fix the team.

You might, MIGHT be able to save face with gallant and sending Ralph wherever, upstairs, Germany, resurrect the stallions.... but history isn’t on the side of the owners managerial decisions...

You’re not in 2018, because ROR and Eichel are two totally different players with different values and different meanings to their franchise

The Sabres traded Thomas Vanek, Jason Pominville and Miller (eventually) to rebuild the franchise and build around Jack Eichel. We’re in year 6 and we haven’t made the playoffs

Please don’t tell me they couldn’t possibly do a better job if they rebuilt the team again. It would be almost impossible to do worse
