I can change

it was the wrong move at the time

just like kim and terry not wanting to keep kane

if we kept ror and kane

never got skinner

we would probably be a little better cap wise and a lot tougher then we are now

- homiedclown

Or a few of the pu$sies on this team currently could put their big boy pants on and come to play with some heart.

Not to start anything but I missed where this team was tough or hard to play against with those two for the three years they were here.

It would just be worse and they’d be on year 6 here wanting to get the hell out.

I wanted to keep both
Getting rid of Kane was understandable
Trading O’Reilly was a reactionary mistake

Problem is that every mistake compounds the others

I'm not sure if lining up across from ek9 is something other teams look forward too.
He's led the league in penalty minutes the past 2 seasons and could really give 2 sh@ts about pounding anyone.

Ror is naggingly good defensively. He plays your stick and interferes all game. Its probably not a guy, scorers want to face.

Considering everything we have been through the past 10 years I really think they need a massive move. While a new coach could make a difference there is still that losing mentality that I don’t think allows them to navigate adversity. As much as I hate to say it something major needs to be done. Trade risto to start. But whether it’s eichel or something else big. They need a change

one can't deny the offensive (in the statistical way) talent they have on this team: jack, hall, skunk, skinner plus staal, olofsson, dahlin...

however, they're lacking confidence, and maybe even belief, right now...this is really a job for an experienced coach that can play to their strengths while figuring out a way to keep them kicking at the darkness 'til it bleeds daylight...asking this group to self-motivate through positive-reinforcement isn't working nor has it, as many have pointed out here over the last 12 months

And then Botterill built a puck-moving defense and Ralph wants to play low event hockey with poopty goalies. They should be opening it up. The d can move, we have Eichel, hall, Skinner and even the new larrys can move better - Lazar, rieder, eakin, even sheahan.

This team simply isn't built to do what Ralph is doing. They're built to move

We had both of them for three seasons.

In fact the last year they were here we finished dead last in the NHL

And if we kept them we don’t have a few prospects in Dylan Cozens or Ryan Johnson.

I’d rather see how good Cozens can potentially be than keep what wasn’t working around.

cozens is a player...not sure what his ceiling is, but it looks as if 2c could be his floor

He's special IMO.

He's already NHL level good, with almost no camp, weird COVID year, and thrusted in the lineup after the WJC.

I think he will be a borderline top line player at the least.

That's an optimistic stance I realize but he's my favorite prospect weve picked outside the top 2 picks and it's not really close

I'm reminded of the Kurt Vonnegut book in my bookcase - Fates Worse Than Death. As Sabres fans we live that. We won't be relocated, we'll just suck for 20 years. A fate worse than death

Yes.

If he were a defensive end he'd be double digit sack special

We better trade Jack & Sam bc “it’s not working with them”
Then we can acquire some picks & prospects that it “won’t work with” 5years from now

Great logic dude
You BUILD AROUND good players, you don’t ship them out

Except it’s moronic

Thankfully we’ve got Tage now though thanks to that great ROR trade
Can’t wait for him to be a 25goal power forward
😂😂😂

Keep hating though
Meanwhile, ROR has a Cup & we still suck

If you lay a few more eggs

You have to either ship out the players or remove the coach

Can't hoard a losing coach for continually being mediocre

The world is full of people who are kept around because they make other people feel good about themselves rather than deliver results that matter. Ralph Kruger is one of those people.
