the only sabre in the 80's that I know was not likable was barrasso

he was a tool

I am sure there is more

at first I thought it was the euro culture, like spacek and tallinder

they just came across as stiffs

yeah you had a teppo or a max

the current group, none have the wow factor
the I want to pay to see that guy

I want my kid to grow up to be like that guy

maybe I am missing something

- homiedclown

Why Dominique Kremer doesn't have that it factor.

offer me a threesome with her and jessica pegula and I would gladly trade it for a bottle of wild turkey

My issue isn’t that Olofsson sucks. He doesn’t. He’s amazing on the PP, and I think he is talented enough to get better 5 on 5

The issue is RK is in love with him to a fault right now.

It’s now 70+ games, most of them with Eichel, and he can’t score as his linemate

It’s an issue.

I do think part of it is system related and maybe VO scores more under a different coach.

But he’s getting literally every possible opportunity at EV strength, PP, OT and with our best players and is only producing on the PP

- sbroads24

This is really good, and I appreciate your prospective.

Everyone scores with eichel.

But, for some reason nobody is this season? Including eichel?

there's a lot to what gerbe said about t-pegs and his varying attempts to structure his hockey operations...he's a very rich man who's very gullible when it comes to things he's not acutely experienced with (like we all are)...i'm not sure what the ratio is between hucksters and true hockey men, but he seems to be a magnet for hucksters
- Michael Pachla

But he had a conversation with a true hockey man. That lives 15 min from the arena. That was just coming off helping a small market team build around an analytical model. You know, exactly what they are supposed to be doing now. And the wife promptly screwed that up...

And about a month in the weight room

Rumor has it, he's playing injured.

if we're going full bore rebuild:

skunk
hall
staal
risto

between now and the deadline...the haul would be more than enough to jumpstart the rebuild and move immoveable contracts like skinner and/or okposo (although i'd ride the last two years of okposo's contract out)

- Michael Pachla

This would be interesting, ship all the assets out pre- deadline. Keep Eichel. Make him rebuild again or take a serious trade offer.

Like 89 and were discussing, - Go Ottawa mode.
Couple good top picks and guys that try hard.
Set up for the future.

Dahlin over brady tkachuk is looking like leon over sam

i'm leaning that way...

full purge

cozens is a great building block, along with dahlin

None of it will matter without a real gm and a real coach. Pegs has NEVER employed an experienced gm (aside from keeping Darcy). Has NEVER gotten over the Patty La el presidente fiasco. And when he had an opportunity to employ a competent hockey mind, they screwed the pooch.

Unless this burn it down rebuild starts with mr. and Mrs. pegs actually admitting they don’t know wtf they are doing. And they don’t know more than a guy like Dudley. You will burn it down and end up with the same results.

This team needs the keys tossed to a Lou Lamoriello type and for mr. and Mrs. hockey to take a back freaking seat.

maybe it's the money they make now, vs say 40 years ago

I honestly do not see any likeable players on this team

I mean ullmark seems like he would be ok

a bunch of stiffs

where are the marty's the folignos

mike ramsey would drop a one liner like peter jacobson

- homiedclown

Kyle is very likeable 😉

Mike Foligno was the best. Nicest Sabre I met as a kid.

Brad may as well. Super nice, genuine dude.

Trade them all, I would rather lose with a bunch of kids then lose with veterans like Hall, Eichel, Sam, Risto etc..... This team has all the talent in the world to win but lacks ACCOUNTABILITY to each other. Good teams, players will take a bullet for each other, this team just goes through the motions and collects a paycheck.

So frustrating.

Let’s be honest. I female dog and female dog and female dog. Pegs will FINALLY hire a “hockey” GM and it’ll be Pierre freaking McGuire.

Lafontaine was great to talk too, my favorite had to be Jim schonefeld, Met him at one of the Sabres Carnivals back in the late 70's early 80's. talked to me for about 15 mins. I still remember that...

A lot of experience to turn too but NAHHH lets ride the Ralph wagon to pooptsville. Frank me I hate this team right now and only because they don't have a real coach.
