That hasn't worked countless times either, so what do you do ? honestly what do you do.
- SABRES 89

If it's eichel fault, you trade him for some good young players.
Trade sam at the deadline too
Trade hall

Expose / convince skimmer to go elsewhere

Build around cozens, quinn, olo, dahlin, Rochester guys.

Do what Ottawa is doing , acquiring high end talent thru the draft again

Patrick Kane is on another level of Hall and Reinhart, that would be a huge upgrade for Eichel. There comes a time where Eichel has to take some blame for this also.

Pegula is lucky the Hawks and the NHL hasn't stepped in and told him to " back off" P Kane. He wants him on this team and has been trying and at 1 point went to far. I'm shocked it hasn't come out.

- SABRES 89

You can add Kane, Crosby, and mcdavid to this line up and Ralph would still f*#% it up

The blame goes all around, they have tried countless options and nothing is working. The Sens play with, heart, grit, hustle and determination, the Sabres don't play anything like that. The Sens can be down 5 goals and still bring it, i've watched about 8 of there games so far this year.

This is exactly what I'm saying

For the last decade the Sabres have made it acceptable to quit on this franchise. Leino, Moulson, ROR, Skinner, Stall(to a lesser degree but Jesus), Okposo. Now the disease is getting Eichel. They need to exit this loop asap. Stop trying to be good and top tier salary wise. Become a proving ground.

Put him in pegs owner suite so they can synergize together and add a real coach.

Brady tkachuk instead of dahlin

Stutzle is going to be tough to play against for the next decade.

I really think its eichel. And sam and Jake McCabe

That " group" is pretty "exclusive " from what I hear.

Feels like this team is in need of blowup. Fire everyone, trade anything of value that's not under 23, maybe the Pegs can sell the team.

There is one guy that really - grind's my gears :

He can absolutely careless about winning.
Doesn't get upset when he get's smoked every game.

I think da8go send something in reference to being able to play in tage's body size for 1 game. Just smashing guys.

Currently watching tyler myers get roughed up by a 5'8 guy. 🙂

There's so many actual examples I forgot that one. The Buffalo Sabres are a retirement home in the NHL. They're the bar league team that came up with a cute name and jersey concept but didn't feel like playing anymore.

I feel the Pegula's are emotionally invested in hockey. Made a huge investment in Penn state. Built Harbor Center. Just overall big investments in hockey on the American side of the border. I think that's what they cling to most.

I'm sure some smart and wealthy sports minds are watching whats happening between the Sabres and Bills. Wondering if the Pegula's are satisfied enough being owners of a good Bills team to the point they'd walk away from the pain of the Sabres. Problem is the Pegula's made the Sabres not profitable by a wide margin. The natural move for the Sabres(if the Pegula's sold) would be to leave Buffalo for a naturally larger (but lame) market like Houston. I think it's those investments like the Harborcenter and Amerks ect. keeping that from becoming reality.

I hope they just do what they did with the Bills and just get hands off the Sabres. Hire some known quantities for your front office and let them work. They handle each team vastly different. Eichel looks done and there's no way Hall resigns here I would think. There's no way I would trust this team as it's currently constructed management wise to handle a rebuilding again if it need to be done.

It really boils down to hiring the right people and it shows. With the Bills they hired Rex Ryan, who at the time was the right choice. Proved to be an accidental stroke of genius because the guy is free press machine and the Bills needed that. He and Whaley weren't totally abysmal, especially considering the Bills recent history at that time, but as soon as they extracted all the usefulness from those two they moved on and hired THE right guys and got to be hands off since. I think that was the plan with the Sabres but they screwed it up no less than 16 times and in such spectacular fashion I expected books to be written about it.

Would you have liked Brian Burke and Ron hextall?

Burke has an interesting formula including tough guys.

- Boss34

(frank) no.

Burke parlayed the Sedins draft deals into a career that he didn't deserve.

It starts with drafting it. The worst part of all this losing is what we have to show for it in our pipeline. Maybe Cozens and Quinn turn that page a bit.
- Lunaion

You make a statement like the one in bold as if it's an easy thing to do.

There are plenty of guys with talent, and plenty that play with massive heart, but how many have both? Not many, and finding them isn't easy in the draft, and they're even more difficult to acquire via trades.

What has Ralph ever shown in the NHL that he deserves any role with a team, aside from being expert in used car salesman parlance?

Absolutely nothing. But he had peg’s ear per 89. And pegs is tired of paying coached to sit home because he’s losing cash on the Sabres, per 89. So the only way you are gonna get the synergetic used car guy from behind the bench is to kick him upstairs.

It’s the only way the management kind of saves face. Can pegs come out AGAIN and say “my bad”, don’t worry 4th gm will get it right, 7th coach will work it out! I got this.

No, you “promote” Ralph and hire a coach that knows how to get ANYTHING out of a fairly talented team. Maybe a Galant. Or BBQ Bruce, a trade for Torts, hell at this point I’ll take Gronbeard. He’s never coached in the NHL and I rather have him than see Ralph coach another game.
