Weird,
you’re ONLY focusing on “sacks” AGAIN

WE DID NOT GET EFFECTIVE PRESSURE ON MAHOMES

- jdfitz77

"Mahomes can't make plays from the ground" is literally the quote I responded to.

“Larry Hughes” for sure is nominated
Overrated (by some), especially on here
And it doesn’t hurt that Larry & Jerry rhyme

I know that, so bringing in Watts and the return of Star could help us with that. Star is what he is a space eater, and takes on double teams, that's what he's paid to do.
- Buff36

Star cost $10mil & is a part time player with essentially little pass rush skills

What’s the last line say???

QBs like Mahomes can still make plays when they’re on their feet
NOT when they’re sacked

And he tore our defense apart bc we didn’t sack him
OR get effective pressure on him

JJ Watt and Jerry Hughes both are top 10 in the NFL at getting pressure or pass rush win rate

So we’re in agreement then they’re good to have.

Glad it took so long to clear up

Hughes being in the top10 didn’t do nearly enough against KC in either game we played them

Move the goalposts all you want,
our pass rush was mediocre
And that’s why they beat us

And simply “winning your pass rush” doesn’t mean the supposed pressure that player got was actually EFFECTIVE
*a sack is ALWAYS effective though, isn’t it?

He's paid to take up space and blockers to make it easier for are LB'S and other Dline men. Anyone could see how much Edmunds was affected.

We need more pressure from our D-line & LBs as a pass rushing unit
I specifically point out Sacks as a metric,
Bc it’s a stat we CLEARLY lack in

And if we weren’t wasting:
$10mil on Murphy
$10mil on Addison
$7mil on Jefferson
$7mil on Butler
$10mil on Star

Then we could afford some of those guys you listed
Or at the very least, IMPROVE on what we have

The POINT is that we just weren’t good enough in that regard
If u guys weren’t so focused on ONE word I’ve (correctly) been using to describe how we weren’t good enough,
then maybe my overall point would’ve been much clearer to you all

- jdfitz77

Dude, YOU choose YOUR narrative that JJ isn't worth it relying solely on Sacks...
when you don't know what his market value is.
Furthermore, YOU identified as your minimum requirements; statistics that are absurdly expensive to acquire a player who qualifies.
Don't lash out at others, ALL of whom are challenging your ill-devised "logic" the exact same way, and for the same reasons.

The point is, he is still good all around. MULTIPLE sites have him ranked at the top of the league using a number of metrics to arrive at their overall evaluation. Your singular focus has been on sacks, completely ignoring tackles, QB pressures, forced fumbles, etc.

Now, you are looking at the rest of us like we are nuts!

Here's a clue....when in a discussion and everyone disagrees with you, you can stop and evaluate if you may be the one wrong, or keep on pushing the same narrative thinking the entire world is nuts.
Your choice.

I haven’t moved them a smidge.

I’m waiting for any evidence from you that Watt or Hughes aren’t good.

You literally a page ago said it was questionable Watt was still a good player.

Do YOU have any evidence that it’s questionable? He’s 31 years old. Not 34 or 35.

If you had said you don’t think he will stay healthy, or you think he WILL decline, then you’d have a legitimate argument.

But you constantly say things that don’t exist in reality

$10mil is too much for a part time player imo
I don’t here Star, but he’s not “great” either

Let’s get a cheaper guy to just “take up space”

Is there a chance that people are putting too much emphasis on a single game against Kansas City? I understand the importance of the fact that no one is getting to the Super Bowl without beating Kansas City, but we can't write off everyone on the Bills' defense (sans secondary)as not good enough because we had a bad game against Kansas City.
Also, I'm not sure I've seen mentioned the fact Kansas City lost the better part of their offensive line for the Super Bowl and that had quite a bit to do with how effective the front four of Tampa Bay was. I guess that means we should panic and worry about Kansas City to the nth degree, but I'm not sure how much upgrading the bills can realistically do. They have to draft really well.
