Too much unless he’s getting double digit sacks
AND lots of additional qb pressures as well
AND helping against the run

Happy Sbroads? Jfc

Better.

Perhaps the issue is, those players matching your criteria are extremely difficult to find. And unless you draft that player and they enjoy success on their 1st contract...holy poop dude, watch out!

Players in 2020 with 10 or more sacks...coincidentally there are 10 in the league...only 5 at DE position. Henrickson is on his 1st contract, while Okwara is a great story as an undrafted player who went from 1.5 sacks in 2019, to 10 in 2020.
Point is, those guys get paid if they do it consistently..Avg.. for other 3 is $17m.

Position. Player. Team. Sacks. QB Pressures. Forced Fumbles. AVV.

OLB. TJ Watt. Pitt Steelers. 15. 9. 2. $2.4m
DE. Trey Hendrickson. NO Saints. 13-1/2. 2. 1. $795k
DT. Aaron Donald. LA Rams. 13-1/2. 6. 4. $22m
OLB. Za'Darius Smith. GB Packers. 12-1/2. 2. 4. $16.5m
OLB. Hasson RedRichard. AZ Cards. 12-1/2. 0. 6. $3.3m
DE. Myles Garrett. Brownies. 12. 1. 4. $25m
DE. Leonard Williams. NY Giants 11-1/2. 2. 0. $16.1m
DE. Stephon Tuitt. Steelers. 11. 6. 2. $12m
OLB. Leonard Floyd. LA Rams. 10-1/2. 2. 1. $10m
DE. Romeo Okwara. Det Lions. 10. 0. 3. $3.4m

Watt is no longer his Def POY former self
AND
I’ve NEVER said I’m “against adding him”

It’s like you can’t freaking read dude

WHAT I HAVE SAID
Is that adding a player with his age & injury history & decline is RISKY
Especially when we’d have to make Cap room to do so

Holy sh!t dude
Re-f*cking read please!!!

- jdfitz77

Ive read all of it.

It’s like you need to argue for the sake of arguing.

JJ Watt, regardless of having a “down year” (he was still great) would be a giant upgrade to the Bills D line.

Within a few days over a billion pages, you’ve argued that Hughes isn’t good and Watt is declining, while only using sacks to back up that opinion, claim to say that’s not what drives your opinion, yet ignore that both Watt and Hughes post great numbers in pretty much all other categories.

We need more pressure from our D-line & LBs as a pass rushing unit
I specifically point out Sacks as a metric,
Bc it’s a stat we CLEARLY lack in

And if we weren’t wasting:
$10mil on Murphy
$10mil on Addison
$7mil on Jefferson
$7mil on Butler
$10mil on Star

Then we could afford some of those guys you listed
Or at the very least, IMPROVE on what we have

The POINT is that we just weren’t good enough in that regard
If u guys weren’t so focused on ONE word I’ve (correctly) been using to describe how we weren’t good enough,
then maybe my overall point would’ve been much clearer to you all

U may have read all of it,
but you sure aren’t comprehending my overall point!!!

Sacks is an important stat that shows our pressure we do get is not being as effective as it could

U keep focusing on that ONE word,
and keep missing my point

That’s YOUR fault dude
Funny how u can’t seem to get over that,
even though you’ve said multiple times that you were done with this discussion

We were 15th in the league in sacks with 38

Seattle had 8 more than us, and we all know how much better their defense is than ours

Incorrect. It shows that the QB isn't hitting the ground with the ball.

And the Bills are middle of the pack in sacks.

SO most of what you're saying is just not true and I think that's what everyone here is trying to tell you.

You just think were misinterpreting it

Again,
limiting yourself to focusing on ONE word & missing the overall point

Our defensive line isn’t good enough
Mahomes punked them like chumps

Yes, the “good” JJ Watt would help
But for MANY reasons I’ve stated, it’s a RISKY move
Only 1 of which was his declined sack totals btw
But for some reason,
ALL the other reasons I’ve repeatedly said don’t register at all with you

QBs like Mahomes can still make plays when they’re on their feet
NOT when they’re sacked

And he tore our defense apart bc we didn’t sack him
OR get effective pressure on him

Guess what game Josh Allen was sacked 7 times this year (season High)

The Seattle game

He went 31/38 for 415 yards and 5 total TD's and we scored 44 points

Again, you are just wrong and are getting mad at us for it

And we could barely even pressure Mahomes,
could we?

Call it whatever u want
Their front 7 gave him fits, and ours barely made a dent

- jdfitz77

I know that, so bringing in Watts and the return of Star could help us with that. Star is what he is a space eater, and takes on double teams, that's what he's paid to do.

OMG.

No it's freaking not you stubborn weirdo . He was great this year. IN almost every single metric.

At the VERY LEAST, he is still very good.

You legit have no idea what you're even talking about

I'm no NFL expert and in 45 seconds with the internet can tell you that Watt was great still.
