I'd do it. We have enough defense with talent.
- Keepcomplaining

Is this the same defense with talent that everyone on here b!tches about on a nightly basis?

Yeah if Dahlin goes or doesn’t pan out there isn’t really talent there

Dahlin is going to be the best offensive D man in the league. His instincts and vision are second to none besides maybe Hughes.

I wouldn’t trade him for 99.9% of the league

- sbroads24

I hate to be that guy (especially after we hashed out our skimmer/ laine beef) but there are way better young defenseman in the league. Makar and Hughes too start.

Not really.

They had better seasons last year as Dahlin obviously struggled for a good portion of it

But none of them did what Dahlin did at 18 years old

Bill's not getting much love out there, like it that way.

Bills don't turn the ball over they win this game... maybe by double digits...

If Staal is a game time decision then I assume it's not a concussion. Jaw, teeth or nose maybe? Either way it's somewhat good news

The D has to show up, gotta have a few stops. Baltimore's defense is no joke. Hope Knox and Singletary have there game faces on, they could see some action. McKenzie could be a game changer. Oline needs to have a good game.

An under rated story line this season is how injuries will have a much greater effect on teams

Only 56 games and a condensed schedule, a two week injury can mean a decent chunk of the year

Exactly. He had the 2 most points ever for a teenage defenseman. He even surpassed Bobby Orr in that category.

He will be fine and he’s been doing fine

Makar and others are 2 years older than dahlin I believe

Should be the same for suspensions on illegal hits hurting a player.... I mean if the nhl actually took those hits seriously... maybe they should call up Dalton to take care of Dowd....

Joker is a steady d-man but we’ll continue to play him 5-10 minutes less than Montour and Risto, both of whom I’d trade for a 12 pack and a pack of Juul pods.

That's fair.

Pretty sure every gm in the league would take either makar or Hughes over dahlin right now.

Older and better

I'm gonna skip this round with you broads.

These guys had different circumstances that really make it hard to compare. College vs. Pros

I hope skimmer and dahlin become better players than laine and makar/ hughes. I'm a fan too. 👊

Condensed schedule means everything is more important. Hell, ill say this game tonight is almost a must-win. They have to come out of the first 6 games at .500

Next up is flyers x2 and then Caps again x2

They could be 1-5-0 and out of it by February if they can't figure their poop out. There's no time to dig yourself out of a hole. Sucks that 4 out of the first 6 are against the Caps but that's life

One more thing on this:

It would have been nice if the NHL opened the season with teams that weren't in the play in round playing each other and teams that were playing each other where possible to level the playing field, but the NHL doesn't consider things. Again, c'est la vie
