you have 2 early picks in the draft as LD

and the best d prospect is an LD

and mccabe has an A on his jersey

move along, nothing to see

- homiedclown

McCabe is a FA at the end of the season, and the others are still prospects, Mete has games under his belt.

we get it

you don't want him

just like you don't like hughes

look at what the bucs did in the offseason to win it all

got guys like brady, gronk, fournette and antonio brown w/o giving up assets

- homiedclown

Watt would be a huge get.

Still a great player

I agree the money needs to work. But he could open up a lot of things for the other Dline. With Star coming back eating double teams. We could finally see Oliver take that next step especially with Watt on the outside.

He’s clearly not the player he used to be
Question is how far has he declined....

Idk that a 15sack D-line is good enough?
It’s not like our LBs rack up sacks

if frazier is going to keep our db's 15 yards downfield at the snap, won't matter

if they are going to be aggressive, they could be a top 5 team in sacks with that starting d line

Yeah he’s no longer a MVP caliber player but he was still a great player

He’d bring the ability to play anywhere on that line and would be great for Oliver

If they grab Watt, then they should definitely take a flyer on on some later round DE/DT prospects. Having that guy in the building would be invaluable to young guys. He would be able to impart a lot of knowledge and maybe make something out of a late-round pick

Oct 27, 2019 NFL Chest Pectoral Tear Grade 3 Watt suffered a torn pectoral in Week 8's win over Oakland. He underwent successful surgery to repair his torn left pectoral muscle and missed 8 games
Jan 14, 2019 NFL Knee Strain Grade 1 Watt underwent minor knee surgery to address a knee issue that bothered him throughout the season.
Oct 8, 2017 NFL Leg Tibial Plateau Fracture Watt missed the final 11 games on IR. He had surgery on October 9.
Sep 14, 2017 NFL Hand Finger Dislocation Watt aggravated his left ring finger. He continued playing through the injury.
Sep 10, 2017 NFL Hand Finger Dislocation Watt injured his left ring finger.
Sep 22, 2016 NFL Back Vertebral Disc Hernia Watt admitted to returning too soon from his July back surgery and required a 2nd that knocked him out for the year.
Jul 20, 2016 NFL Back Vertebral Disc Hernia Watt had July surgery for a herniated disc in his back. He started the regular season on time but played just 3 games before needing another surgery and landing on IR.
Dec 9, 2015 NFL Hand Metacarpal Fracture Watt broke his left hand in a Wednesday practice but missed no time.
Nov 29, 2015 NFL Abdomen Muscle Tear Grade 3 Watt had a partially torn right adductor longus, a fully torn left adductor longus and a fully torn left adductor pectineus in his inner thighs and groin, along with partial tears in his left and right abdominals.

Your body isn't the same after ONE major injury, let alone after several. And it's not like he's an accountant, sitting behind a desk doing his job.

If the price is right, I say bring him in. He SHOULD help us, no doubt.

But if we've got to cut 4 players just to fit in a guy who's missed 50% of his team's games in the past 4 years? Well, that doesn't sound like smart business.

I get that, plus it's said Montreal wants to keep him around until the trade deadline in APR. in case of injuries.

Can we afford him, though? How many players have to lose their jobs to fit him in? Then you have no depth.

I'm sure Beane has an idea of what he wants.

Even with some decline in recent years, Watt remains one of the best edge defenders in the league and his 85.5 overall grade ranked seventh among edge defenders in 2020.

I don’t agree with their grading system
Appreciate the pressures,
but i think it’s CLEAR that our defense lacks someone who can actually get to the QB
Idk how good Watt still is at that?
And i think it’s fair to realize he’s declining

Will he level off?
Will he decline more?
Can we fit him under that Cap?
If so, who don’t we bring back in order to get him?

There’s a lot of valid questions here that make me nervous about him
He’s not 25 anymore
A decade of injuries is clearly taking its toll

So what exactly do you base your opinion of his decline on?

One statistic that his sacks went down?

He literally does everything at an elite level still.

My only worry would be health
