We added quite a few new faces into the lineup.
Staal
Hall
Cozens
Rieder
Tage
Sheehan
New defenseman

Probably at least 6 of the 12 forwards from last season.
No preseason

I'm a homer , but they need some time to conform.
I think that's reasonable.

Caps had all the same stars / continuity

- Boss34

We played like crap & still scored 4 goals,
that wins most games
The season isn’t over after just 1 game
We can get better

We played bad & still scored 4goals against a good team
And that’s with Jack & Dahlin not having great games

This team can get better
Will they?
We’ll see

- jdfitz77

Yes they can, a lot of new faces, takes time to mesh.

I’m sorry but I can’t buy this.
Every team gets new players every year, yet the Sabres always need time to gel. It’s a tired excuse for bad hockey

We have been trying to gel for 10 years. It hasn’t worked yet.

Usually true with what you say, but with the way the last year has been, it's not the same.

Last night was sloppy, so it wasn't a good example of this, but...
I'd rather watch a 6-4 loss than a 3-1 loss.

I've posted many many times this is a 7th place team, so my expectations are very low as far as wins go. Give me some entertainment value.

Adams needs to make a couple shrewd acquisitions at the TDL, primarily to move two of their 2nd/3rd pairing tweeners on the right.

Where are u hearing about this supposed chirping?
- jdfitz77

I posted "I believe".

I certainly don't know anything more than anyone else here when it comes to this.

I just know what happens when one unhappy worker infects an entire group.
I've seen it too many times on the jobsites in my lifetime.

I'll get that one cancerous, worthless laborer sent to me from the union hall that will try and drag down the entire crews morale.
Guys are guys.
Immature ones will try and be that torpedo which takes down the entire ship.
They live for it.

I just "believe" that this WILL happen if Ralph and Jeff do not learn how to co-exist and iron out their differences.

Before long, I firmly "believe" that Jeff will infect that locker room with caustic negativity.
We all know that Jack has already had enough of the losing here, right?
He has even been boldly public about that whichI actually applaud Jack for.

You can't have a 40 goal scorer that makes 9 million per season on the 4th line.

That locker room will implode if this continues.

Just my opinion.

“The NHL protects its star players”
Craig Rivet

“Players do not get abused”
Craig Rivet

Apparently Rivet loves murder on ice.

- ImThatGuy

The NHL is the only major sport that doesn't create rules to benefit its stars. It doesn't help that people like Rivet run the league.

Doesnt George (frank)ing Parros run DPS?

The explanation Dreger just gave was basically. Yes he hit him in the head, but he didnt hit him in the head enough to earn a new suspension.

George Parros running DPS is like Ndamukong Suh running the NFL health & safety committee. The NHL is insane

Hopefully not, don't have the time for it. If your not gonna put Cozens with Skinner, then put Cozens in Tage's place and flip flop them. That line could not get any flow with the ballerina trying to stick handle through everyone.

Sometimes it actually works, but after he does it, it's like his brain freezes and he locks up. I've never seen anything quite like it, except maybe for max afinogenov

I'm just waiting for this franchise to destroy who I think looks like a very promising prospect in Cozens.

We all know that they are capable of doing this, right?

The way that this franchise has operated the last 10+ years?
They will take Skinner off of the 4th line and then throw Cozens onto it.

They help one player while destroying the confidence and career of another.

This franchise literally makes my blood pressure rise.

How many forwards on the caps last night?

Still have the Backstrom ovi Wilson guys?
Tj ochie.

We have 2/3 of a new 1st line.
Backstrom and ovi are going into the hall of fame together.
2/3 of a new second line before staal got concussed

We have 7 out if 12 new forwards right?

Who cares about the rest of the nhl, we were playing the capitals last night. A core group of cup winners.

Sorry datguy, no beuno

The Sabres also haven’t played in 10 months.

The caps Atleast had went to the bubble. So training, practicing, and playing games this summer.

That matters. That same team also won a cup together.

"Krueger pointing out if Staal can't go that they're putting Sheahan at center and not fast-tracking Cozens there. This coach/GM will not make the Casey Mittelstadt mistake, even though Cozens is clearly a far more polished player entering the NHL. #Sabres"

Second line Sheahan, beautiful. I assumed Eakin was the worst available choice but here we are

So it’s just conjecture on your part then,
got it

Also,
Skinner had the 7th most icetime for our forwards
It not like he’s a typical 4th liner getting 8min a game. He’s seeing the ice

I don't know, my opinion is just like at work if a new person came in, I usually put my best builder with him to learn and build up his confidence. Why not put Cozens with Hall and Eichel and learn from are best.

Skinner-Eichel-Olofsson
Hall-Cozens-Reinhart

Or

Skinner-Eichel-Olofsson
Cozens-Hall-Reinhart

And yes, Hall has played some center. When RNH was out he did it a bit
