Dahlin will most likely play longer than Ralph is coach here though

I don’t think u trade someone that young & talented just bc he isn’t a great fit in the current system
Like you even said....
that system could change if we get better goaltending

Trading such a good young talent like that (at this point) seems like a rash decision imo

Go get your goalie and unleash him, or you are just wasting him.

Cool, he did play better the last 2 games, but I don't think he's improved in the D zone at all and in Ralph's superb system that matters. Rather just unleash the kid and let him flow.
- Buff36

Has Ralph changed his system from last year to this? Because the "kid" had a 60 point pace going last year. Maybe he's just having an off year. Those happen to every player.

But only while Ralph is coach,
AND
still using this system

Neither of those have to be forever

Dahlin won’t be “held back” forever

And I think I said if Ralph is here, then why keep Dahlin, if I didn't I worded it wrong. And there is only a few that should ever be safe from being traded, and unfortunately in my book Dahlin isn't one of them.
- Buff36

I’m not sure if Ralph has put the reigns on Dahlin at all. What I see is the defence jump into the play or carry the puck when the opportunity is there. Dahlin lacks confidence when carrying the puck almost as if he’s afraid to make a mistake. He needs confidence more than anything. I think the team needs a guy like Chara to mentor Dahlin like Staal can do for Cozens.

Can agree with getting him a mentor.

Do you know what system Ralph is using? I don’t but whatever it is it isn’t overly defensive. Breakaways are fast and furious under this system. Very seldom in the NHL does a guy get 2 shots on a breakaway under any kind of system. It’s more like they breakdown too much so it hardly matters what system they use.

No he hasn't changed his system, just think the kid would be better in a different system.

I think you’re in a very small minority there
We hardly “run & gun”

And just about everyone here thinks Dahlin is being held back
There’s no proof of that, but it’s not like we see him carrying the puck from end to end like he’s capable of- not very often anyways

We pretty much all agree with that

Hopefully a change is made sooner than later,
but that’s hard to do mid-season

But the kid was fine last year in the same system. Had some defensive gaffs, but overall he was fine.

Both of u can be correct here

Dahlin could’ve performed better last year DESPITE the system- and he could just be struggling in it more this season for whatever reason

At the same time.... another system could be more suited to his talents & could really “unleash” him, so to speak

I never said run and gun. They play some kind of defensive system and they have way too many breakdowns that result in either breakaways or a guy left alone having time for coffee before he shoots.
I couldn’t care less if I’m in a very small minority here because it’s only my opinion.

Ok, great
I’m not sure what u want me to do with this?

No, i don’t know the exact system that Ralph is going over in practice with these guys
But it’s pretty obvious he’s holding back Dahlin

From Sal,

Davis had a very good rookie season in Buffalo. From the very first week of training camp, when the media was allowed to watch practice, he looked the part of a true NFL wideout. Then he showed it in games, especially as the season went on.

Yeah pretty much the reason you can say goodbye to Brown.
