Either do I, but think it would be a good starting point and the phone doesn't get hung up right of the bat.

Let’s assume we could swing a deal for Gibson or Kuemper

Gibson costs more- maybe double- but solidifies the position long term

Kuemper is more easily had, but a “bridge” until UPL could be ready to take over

I suppose having Gibson locked up at 6.4mil for this year PLUS the next 6, would make it worth the overpay

If i were Adams....
I’d be negotiating with BOTH teams, to get a potential deal done ASAP

I suppose it depends on how you analyze and define the needs and the associated importance to the team.

From what I've read and listened to; improving the Goalie position is the number 1 need, while close behind is improving the 5v5 scoring.
Olofsson; I view him as a middle six player, probably line 3 optimally, yet he offers high trade value for scoring goals....they all count the same. It would hurt to lose him and he is a very significant piece.
Gibson though is most probably franchise-altering, possibly enabling the defensive system to transition to a more balanced and attacking unit that finds greater scoring success.
There are significant additional resources to pay for that Goalie upgrade and to a lesser degree, acquiring a younger D prospect with very good upside.

That's it.

Very respectable 👊

Weighing the top goalie vs. Goal scorer / point producer

I would say Gibson definitely has a better resume and it seems like your getting what your getting.

Olo could get better or worse . Only 70 games.

Your #2 team Team has a player who reminds me of olo in some ways. Minus the cheapness and greatness.

But a lite - version skating , size and skill. Set.
Hoping olo develops on that type of trajectory

2nd year player. 24 years old. Do you feel like olo is close to peaking? If your talking 70 ish points?

We could probably sub Reinhart for Olofsson in the deal as well- which I’m sure you’d love

I think kuemper is really good and someone Arizona would want to build a team around. Not gonna be traded for scrubs.

Raanta is the guy I feel like the Sabres will acquire.
Casey and a 2nd or 3rd.
Arizona is one team that probably wants picks.

Wouldn't they have to expose one of these goalies to the kracken?

ARZ has been shopping Kuemper since the draft
He’s 30yrs old, and they’re years away, so i don’t see how they could consider “building” their team around him

Raanta has started for only 1year in his entire career
So while he’d be an obvious improvement over Hutton, he’s not exactly “proven” if u know what i mean
He’d be a decent fallback option imo though

And yes, we can only protect 1 goalie in the expansion draft

To me it's how far do you want to push it to win this year. I think Gibson could push this team to the next level. DK would help and be a cheaper option, but think you still need to add another piece or 2 to do what Gibson might be able to do alone.

We'll see.

Clearly you do not want to hear any other options or options.

So kuemper or Gibson. 😀

I don’t think there’s a big difference between either
Did u watch Kuemper in the playoffs last year?
He’s as legit as it gets

Either guy would be great imo
Gibson would just be here longer

I’d more than willingly listen to other options
But Kuemper & Gibson are both top5-ish goalies,
while a guy like Raanta has been a backup for almost his whole career
There’s just a big difference there

I would take Raanta as a 1b option with Ullmark.

I don’t hate the idea
Would just be a fall back option for me,
as Kuemper & Gibson are much more proven

Well me too, but he would be a way better option than Hutton.

I do not think management is under this "eichel watch"
Like the fan's.

I think they have an idea of his value and aren't gonna be pressured into win now. Hope not. They put enough into Jack, make it work. Here's a little upgrade, a punt, a different face.

Sabres are gonna Sabre.....

Raanta seems like the play. 🤔

A good goalie can make a big difference there
Not just in allowing fewer goals,
but also by allowing the skaters to put more pressure offensively
