Just makes sense to me that if they’re trading their goalie, they’d be interested in a guy who could be their future at that position

I think the Ducks wouldn’t even consider the above proposal

Think about what you’d want for Eichel
It’s likely gonna cost a lot to get Gibson

- jdfitz77

Then I wouldn't do it
They can have him and wallow for several more years

Edit:
- 46pt player in his 1st year, on track for 63 in 82 ; 10 pts in 10 games this season, on pace for 82
- 3rd Pairing RhD, which they need this season, plus another 1 or 2 while youngsters bake
- A-level Goalie prospect who's timeline matches the organization's
- B-level F Prospect
- 1st Round pick
Net/Net is 2 players , A Prospect, B Prospect, 1st Rd Pick

Not too bad. Might have to drop the 2021-3rd I asked for

Fair enough
Gibson would be great, but bc he’s signed for such a long while the Ducks can take their time waiting for the offer they want
ARZ has more of a sense of urgency to trade Kuemper bc he’s only got 1 year left under contract after this
Everyone knows who I’d like-
except Sbroads apparently

Fitz is still awful, the Sabres all have Covid, the NHL is still a Busch league and I supposedly registered 2 or 3 new accounts.

Edited my post above yours.

Gibson is better than Kuemper. The pieces I offered up don't hurt the Sabres too much, and help the Ducks. I admit though that I might have to come off the Draft pick I added. It's a decent deal.

I wouldn't give up anything crazy for Keumper unless his agent agreed to parameters of an extension...else he walks in 14 months. And at .905 while his teammate is posting .912 gives me reason to pause how much I really want to give up.

McCabe added to the Covid list.

I assume they will end up with at least 10 players.

I don’t think CjSmith is a “b level prospect”
He’s a fringe NHLer at best, and those kind of guys have no trade value
And while Miller is a decent player....
if they’re trading Gibson, then they’ve essentially given up in this season- so a 3rd pair defenseman doesn’t have value for them either
Take those pieces out, and make them something they’d actually want going forward imo
Something like Quinn & Samuelsson for example

Obviously impossible to know exactly what they’d be looking for-
but my guess is that it would take something in the neighborhood of 4 high quality young pieces

Kuemper would cost half that imo,
but again.... who knows?

So you are saying
▪2021-1st
▪2020-1st (Quinn)
▪20219-2nd (Samuelson)
▪70pt pace, goal-sniping Forward (Olo)
▪A-level Goalie Prospect

5 premium pieces???
No offense, but you are crazy high. No way in the real world!

0.08% positivity rate in the NFL over an entire season.

5 teams shut down in the first month of a shortened NHL season.

I mean. This is an entirely new level of incompetence. Bettman needs to step down. I'm pretty sure he has Parkinson's disease anyway. All joking aside, you seen him speak at events lately? He shakes as bad as Michael J. Fox.

Some good Convoy going on in here. Well looks like the Sabres will have plenty of time on there hands to make phone calls and see if anything can be done.

I see some top end scoring talent in olo.
Why are we trading away a position that is already weak?
Secondary scoring with always complain about.
It is the 5 x 5 again. Guy with 70 nhl games can definitely improve his total's...

You have him on a 70 point regular season pace.
That seems like a top 40 type nhl scorer

The NHL puts new stipulations/regulations out.

Florida Panthers.

Um we cant do that, because we have fans sitting behind the bench.

The NHL in a few sentances.

Not Olofsson
I said 4 good pieces sir

2 good ones & 2 without value aren’t getting it done imo

Gibson is really good
And he’s a guy Anaheim isn’t in any hurry to trade
So it’s gonna take A TON to get him imo

Again, this is why I’d target Kuemper instead
I think he’d cost much less

I suppose it depends on how you analyze and define the needs and the associated importance to the team.

From what I've read and listened to; improving the Goalie position is the number 1 need, while close behind is improving the 5v5 scoring.
Olofsson; I view him as a middle six player, probably line 3 optimally, yet he offers high trade value for scoring goals....they all count the same. It would hurt to lose him and he is a very significant piece.
Gibson though is most probably franchise-altering, possibly enabling the defensive system to transition to a more balanced and attacking unit that finds greater scoring success.
There are significant additional resources to pay for that Goalie upgrade and to a lesser degree, acquiring a younger D prospect with very good upside.

That's it.

Either do I, but think it would be a good starting point and the phone doesn't get hung up right of the bat.
