Think I said it a couple days ago I was worried about COVID issues after the devils went down. Hope we’re not down for a few games, just one would be nice

So the devils had a player test positive the morning of the game. Was in full close contact with the entire team, and they played the game anyways?

So now buffalo is having a scare?

What's the point of even having any protocols then

As usual, the NHL is the most inept league

I am sure the Sabres organization is pissed about that. They not only lost Sunday but also exposed.

The nhls excuse is. “We didn’t get the results back until Monday”

- Sabretooth9

It sounds like it's both. Weather sucked, so there was no sense rushing things.

There has not been one documented contact trace of COVID being spread in play in any of the four major sports. There hasn't been one known in Europe either. Of course, Buffaluck could dictate the Sabres be the first, but odds are they are going to come out of it okay so long as they followed guidelines.

It's covid related, per multiple sources
- Powerslave

The NHL sent out a weird statement, COVID protocols but also used the weather.

IMO its a CYA thing and they are just using the storm as an excuse.

Of course the NHL would send out a statement to confuse people.

So teams have to be in town a day prior, that's what I'm getting out of this, yes?

I think its a combo of both. Sabres were scheduled to travel yesterday but couldn't b/c of the storm. Their delayed arrival today prevents them from following the proper protocol with tracing/testing.

So did they officially reschedule it for tomorrow?

I think they're waiting for today's tests to come in before they officially announce a date.

Not sure if arriving today would've been such a big deal if the Devils didn't just suspend their season for covid right after we played them consecutive days. But who knows. Uncharted territory.

I know it was inevitable, but the thrill ride that was GameStop appears to be officially coming to an end.

Source: "Buffalo is furious. ... They asked for more info from the league and from NJ on both Saturday and Sunday when Zajac and Palmieri went out" and they didn't get it.

Travis Zajac was added to COVID-19 protocol list Friday and did not travel to Buffalo. Kyle Palmieri played Saturday and was added Sunday. Andreas Johnsson, Janne Kuokkanen, Michael McLeod and Pavel Zacha played both games and were added on Monday.

Hey Ralphie-boy!!:
Stop fvcking around, eat some pride and get lines 1 - 3 going

Skinner - Eichel - Sam ... it friggin worked before you got here moron

Hall - Staal - Olofsson ... Hall can drive this line and have Staal and Olofsson finish. Hall and Eichel don't mesh, even Ray Charles says so.

Sheahan - Cozens - Lazar ... break the kid into the C role in the NHL with responsible players who can fly

Reider - Eakin - Mitts/Okposo ...let Casey and Kyle trade on and off

Do this for 5 - 7 games to develop their chemistry.
