Hutton isnโ€™t good but blaming him for the loss is idiotic.

Sabres posted a 6.05 expected goals against today. Worst of the year by far

It was a whole team meltdown today.

Everyone sucked for the most part

A lot of team speed, guys were flying today.
- Buff36

Wood has rockets in his skates and seems to have learned that he can't just skate in a straight line, he has improved since past seasons where he was a one trick pony

But yes the devil's have speed, the problem is they don't really have a pure scorer or finisher. Palms has looked off. Holtz will be exciting

But ruff has the team crashing the net and not just play perimeter

Devils looked good today
Lindy has them playing excited hockey
Every goal scored is genuinely celebrated
Devils players acting like each one is the cup clincher

Reminds me of the buffalo Bill's and how they built culture, wanting guys to celebrate in practice. Pump each other up.

If we had Lindy, fyi

It's 7-1 buffalo

after 2 periods ๐Ÿ˜

- Boss34

Ruff sure has them playing and battling

Now if the devil's can fix a powerplant that is 3 for 26 that would help

It's great seeing the players excited and seeing young guys step up

The 4th line of wood McLeod and Bastian has been very strong

I wish weโ€™d traded for Wood last year when he was available
Always liked him
Really good bottom6 player

Sabres are 2 wood's and a ruff from heading to the golf course early.

He is very streaky and takes bad penalties usually by skating into the goalie but he seems to have learned and also depends on style of play

He is playing with 2 players who are decent defensively which is what you need with wood on the line

Every time Iโ€™ve watched him over the years he seems to play hard
And he does have some skill to go with that motor
Thatโ€™s the kind of guy i like for the bottom6

Totally agree with this.

Rieder-Eakin-Okposo now has a 21% expected goal share together on a line that was at 53% before Okposoโ€™s return.

Teams that want to win have to make hard decisions about well-liked players. Do you want to compete or do you just want to avoid hard conversations?

There is zero doubt in my mind that Krueger wood bench Eichel or Skinner before he would Okposo

Two major problems today:

1. Zero urgency. Long gone is the start at the beginning of the season where we were attacking and tilting the ice. Instead we are just offering prayers up from the point and perimeter.

2. Too many guys that can't skate. Watching guys like Staal and Okposo try to get going after stopping is absolutely painful.

Wasn't there a rumor last year involving us and Wood?

I am not big on facepunchers, usually like team toughness, but this band of ballerina's ain't doing that. Would insert Borgen and make a trade for Bennett, guys that can bring a little to the table and will stand up for there teammates.

So 4-4-2 is better than my projected 2-7-1; doubling the number of points and being in 6th place vs 7th.
I missed yesterday's game but was able to watch today's and saw all the previous games.
I have no idea what to expect out of this team, several games they played OK, 1 game they played very good, and the others gave been substandard efforts needed to win games. Their special teams are better, but their 5v5 is sometimes painful to watch.

I was expecting to lose games by the score tonight, but have more excitement doing so with a much improved F group..especially the top 9. I didn't expect much from Eakin, Reider, Lazar, Sheahan and am pleased they generally have been playing well. I'm very disappointed in the production of the top 6 plus Skinner at 5v5. 10 games in is enough time boys! You have shown glimpses of what you can do, now settle down and just freakin do it.

Just 1point behind PIT for 4th
Decent start, especially considering Eichel & Hall & Skinner havenโ€™t been producing much at all

It might, plus it gives them a mill in cap space, I would see if they would just take the Giraffe first without the pick.

Victor Mete has requested a trade out of Montreal since he has been a healthy scratch for all 7 games this season...after starting for them the last 2-1/2 seasons.
He has decent metrics, is only 22 and is improving...making $735k.

Could be a decent acquisition for 3LhD.
Not sure what is would cost...can't be crazy
Would like to find trade partners for Montour and Miller too.

He would be a interesting add, pretty good defensively. And Arizona is looking for a RD
