That was due to the rumblings he was gonna play with jack

Did not expect that to last 5 periods

So Hutton was fine?
- ImThatGuy

He is a blah backup

Not hasek

36 shots on him is telling on our team effort

The team and d is built to play an oiler type game

We are trying to play 2 to 1 games

Bad strategy

I'm actually shocked he didn't pull Hutton w 6 minutes to go.

Good post.
I dont agree with someone contract value means he should score no matter who he plays with, but I get the frustration
And the bolded part...just one of several head scratching the GM & HC made

- IonSabres

I understand lessened production but its non-existent. I personally like Oloffson on Eichel's LW the most.

Oloffson - Eichel - Reino (when healthy)
Hall - Staal - Cozens/Mitts
Skinner - Lazar - Mitts/Cozens
Reider - Eakin - Sheahan

Okposo

Sure, Kruger probably shouldn’t have put him in that position
But he gave the kid a shot- ok

Tage sure hasn’t done anything to earn staying on the top line though
And he hasn’t done anything much in his previous NHL stints either

The biggest problem with him is he tries to play a finesse game. If he used his size in the corners and played a big game he could be quite effective. Problem is, I don't know if you can teach that at this point.

His length works against him in the finesse game -- time and space is minimal in the NHL.

- Sabre_Tooth

I think it’s the single biggest thing holding him back. Not using his size to advantage. He plays like a 5’9 player. It’s frustrating.
Tyler Meyers was like this too early on. He is a bit meaner now

The 3 year deal for Super Sniper was a bit premature

Agreed with everything but this. 37 was the reason NJ scores at the end of the 1st to me. He simply is too small and too weak to cover the goalscorer. Too small, too weak. Story of Mittelstadt's career.
- lacaprup

He also had the zone exit and set up for the 2 on 1 that led to the zone time that eventually led to the Lazar goal.

The Lazar line was the only line that didn’t get caved in at 5v5

Baffling imo
I’d love to be proven wrong though
It’s a steal if he can somehow get entrenched on that top line & be productive
But I’ve got serious doubts

Imo, he's too damn slow.

We'll agree to disagree about 37.What are you doing in the market right now? In September I exited market 'cause I took off on the Application trail because I hated society. I think I was justified in that. I haven't really gotten back into the market yet, and it looks to me like a 25-30 percent pull back is due this year

I'm beginning to monitor wallstreetbets reddit and discord and may play around within that sphere if those crazy people are going to keep pumping up dead cats.

Tage has never been a good skater
Ppl say “for his size”
But that really just means “inadequate”

Apparently he’s got a “great shot”
but I’ve yet to see that in the NHL

And he doesn’t use his size- AT ALL

At least Skinner was played in the top6 today!

3 out of 4 bad goals.

I'm not faulting him for the .01 wood goal.

Made the initial save.

Buffalo born miles wood

- Boss34

The first goal a breakaway in first 20 seconds was a great move by McLeod, I wouldn't put that on Hutton, that's more of a team lapse

McLeod's second goal should have been saved

Johnnson goal the puck was playing ping pong

With some of the talent we have, we should be flying around like NJ was today. I would like to see what Ruff could have done with this group. Certainly wouldn't be holding there hands and serving milk and cookies like Krueger after a game like this.

Hutton isn’t good but blaming him for the loss is idiotic.

Sabres posted a 6.05 expected goals against today. Worst of the year by far

Good post and I think the only reason we signed Tage to three years is if he didn’t work out, he’s still appealing because of his size, good trade bait at his low salary possibly?
- lulags

Expansion too.

Jbotts is probably staying up at night, deciding what to give Buffalo for the choice of tage or skimmer.

And yet they sit one point out of a playoff spot.

Are they playing good enough? No. That's not the point. The point is the incessant whining when they WIN a game. It's fun when they win (well, except for the ones that either live for the high draft picks or just need something to cry about so their lives have meaning), and I'm going to enjoy it when they do win.

- Powerslave

Powers has a very good point.

Hope the Sabres tease us to the end of the season. Past the deadline at least. Winter × pandemic = fun hockey at least

Totally agree with this.

Rieder-Eakin-Okposo now has a 21% expected goal share together on a line that was at 53% before Okposo’s return.

Teams that want to win have to make hard decisions about well-liked players. Do you want to compete or do you just want to avoid hard conversations?

Devils looked good today
Lindy has them playing excited hockey
Every goal scored is genuinely celebrated
Devils players acting like each one is the cup clincher

Reminds me of the buffalo Bill's and how they built culture, wanting guys to celebrate in practice. Pump each other up.

If we had Lindy, fyi

It's 7-1 buffalo

I think we are going to see some more upside her into the summer but then I can see the markets going into the gutter again.

There have been a few names pumped up by Wall Street Bets and some people have probably made some life changing money because of it but the overall markets have looked bleak. DJIA and SPY have been going down lately and the VIX (volatility Index) is starting to perk up again.

I’ve been in Gold and Silver explorers/developers since around June of last year. Switched over to exclusively silver around December.

Think we may see some action in the commodities market these next 4-6 months to the upside after a roughly 7 month consolidation/coil.
