I’m not blaming STRICTLY Hutton
But it’s quite clear he’s not good enough

Gotta get someone else in here

- jdfitz77

Ok I’ll agree with you that there are lots of goalies out there that are better and would help this team be better. The problem is the money spent on invisible talent that adds up to 14 million plus. This team is already in cap hell so it won’t happen.

It's been a while... but I came here to say a couple of things.

#1. This shortened season is making it very clear how important having two solid goaltenders with all of the back to back games. Ullmark has been stellar and Hutton is letting crucial goals slip through (case in point goal #4 today)

#2. While the power play success is nice we are quite frankly relying on it for offense. 5v5 needs to step it up and where in the (frank) is Jeff Skinner? I don't care who you are playing with you are making 9M for 5v5 goal scoring.

#3. Cozens looks good, mitts was hustling today and Tage Thompson should be shot to the moon. Kid has 20 points in 110 career games and looks clueless out there when he's out there. Why we signed him for 3 years makes no sense to me.

We have gotten points the last few games because of are goalies, Hutton needs to make those saves, but the team has been bad for the last 7 periods.
- Buff36

3 out of 4 bad goals.

I'm not faulting him for the .01 wood goal.

Made the initial save.

This and 10 games in they have 2 regulation wins. One was a convincing win against Philly, the other a lucky 3-2 win where they clung to that one goal lead for the entire third behind Ullmark. Also a 4-4-2 record is not a winning record. They’re 4-6 and have looked unimpressive in 9 of the 10 games played.

They’ve acquired exactly half of the points we could’ve
And the standing go by POINTS,
not winning %

Hall with Eichel isn’t working. I’m surprised they split up the Hall-Staal-Cozens line because it did have success.

Hopefully Reinhart is ready for Tuesday because this team does not have depth sufficient to be missing any of their top 6 forwards.

Okposo needs to be shot too the moon.

Mittelstadt was good today but shouldn’t have been on the ice in the 6v4 situations.

Also hopefully Joker is ok because Irwin is bad.

Good post and I think the only reason we signed Tage to three years is if he didn’t work out, he’s still appealing because of his size, good trade bait at his low salary possibly?

Good post.
I dont agree with someone contract value means he should score no matter who he plays with, but I get the frustration
And the bolded part...just one of several head scratching the GM & HC made

It’s a bit disingenuous to refer to us as 4-6 when in the standings we are really .500

Not a big deal, just saying

Homie & i have a bet for this year on it

But many said he’d be a 20goal scorer- some even said 25- when we made that AWFUL trade that brought him here

Fair point

I think we’d be able to push more offense if they were more confident in the goaltending

One was a breakaway which is 50 50
And one had mcabe lost and kind of screening hutton wo a stick

Schoenny would have either taken the body or tried to block it

The biggest problem with him is he tries to play a finesse game. If he used his size in the corners and played a big game he could be quite effective. Problem is, I don't know if you can teach that at this point.

His length works against him in the finesse game -- time and space is minimal in the NHL.

Mittelstadt was good today

- Pegullavill e

Agreed with everything but this. 37 was the reason NJ scores at the end of the 1st to me. He simply is too small and too weak to cover the goalscorer. Too small, too weak. Story of Mittelstadt's career.
