$AG.

I’ve been waiting for a short squeeze in silver for 6 months.

A lot of people are ridding the NOK bandwagon this morning.

No way do I want AMC or GameStop. But still. That seems to be the next victim stocks wise

Okay, there is no such thing as a 1-1-2 penalty kill in your own zone. The Sabres are trying to do what every other team does and that's rotate the two high guys as the D move to the middle of the ice to set up the umbrella. Maybe they looked slow on their rotation and that's what was being referred to.

First stinker since game one and Ullmark got us a point. This NJ series is yet another big one. I hated the schedule when I first saw it but these back-to-back "mini series" definitely bring a heightened sense of urgency. I just hope the players feel it as much as us fans.

- Bufsaints8

The 1-1-2 is supposed to combat the umbrella. The only problem is, NY adjusted to it and Buffalo didn't revert back to the box.

Need to get 3/4 points this weekend

Definitely. I really hope the devils aren’t good and the Sabres seem to have their number the last couple years.

I know there is no such thing as a 1-1-2 but watch their next PK. This looks like more than rotation to me. It seems like they put one man up high to cover the 2 points then they try to play a triangle down low. And no matter where the puck goes I fail to see the box, which drives me insane. Or maybe I'm crazy and if so disregard.

Yeah, at least on the PK where we got stuck for the whole 2 minutes, they were playing diamond PK

https://jhanhky.substack....es-diamonds-arent-forever

Not sure about the rest of the game, but that PK was diamond. I only remember it because it was somewhat odd

I cant believe people are not more up in arms about what has happened with what was done to stop the losses of some people rich friends.

I honestly hope it continues.

I really think Eichs is hurt. Whatever kept him out of the first few days of camp is not healed. His puck control has been sloppy, he hasn't shot the puck as much as he usually does, and it looks to effect him on the dot as well. I'm guessing it's not his core or back because his skating & agility seem normal. Maybe wrist, forearm or elbow? They're obviously keeping it quiet but it will come out eventually.

The guy is a competitor. And he's now surrounded by the most talent since he became a Sabre. There's no way he's checked out. He's hurt and trying to play through it.

IMO

- Chris16

I heard "core" injury for eichel, which is making him uncomfortable at faces offs as well. That was last week...

Definitely effect his shot.....

Taylor Hall and Staal have been incredibly underwhelming so far.

Just amazing how no matter what big names they acquire they never seem to exceed expectations

- sbroads24

Hall looks lost.
Staal has looked good considering his age

I think it's Ralph's system. It works well for some and. It well for others.

Risto has been great since ralph took over , system fits his play.

Still only 8 games, new team, new city.

Maybe try hall on the 4th line with skinner? 🙄

7 points in 8 games and 4 points in 8 games is incredibly underwhelming? Staal had a 3 game point streak going into last night. Give it some time
- jcragcrumple

I don't personally view overall points as the end all be all.

Between the two of them they have 1 EV goal and 4 total EV points.

They aren't relegated to Lazar and Sheahan either.

Hall was brutal the last few games and Staal's line is in no way shape or form an NHL caliber 2nd line

And even if you wanted to just look at the points, is a 70 point pace for a former MVP playing with Eichel that good?

And Staal is producing at about half the EV point clip you thought he'd be, so i'm not sure how my point isn't at least semi accurate

it's weird that of the 4 lines play five on five

the two bottom lines are producing just as much or more per 60

I've noticed Risto isn't blindly rifling the puck up the boards as much. He is actually keeping his head up, taking a stride and making a breakout pass. Much better IMO, as that was a huge shortcoming on his game.

He did get caught flat-footed on his offside when McCabe went for a skate...cost us a goal.

Krueger is in love with Olofsson who ...checks stats... Has 0 EV goals after not being able to score at EV last year

I get it for the PP, he's absolutely great there.

But he's a 3rd liner. Yet he get's bumped up every single time instead of Cozens or Skinner

My qualm is your description as "incredibly underwhelming." I wouldnt characterize a 70 point pace that way. Likewise, Staal has 3 in his last 4

I think it's coming around

Thanks, but I get what happened.
My son is one of the Wall Street Bets guys and has amassed a decent sized fortune. He was pissed, I believe rightfully so.

I'm not clear on what the poster was getting at...
A) wants what Wall Street did by locking out retail buyers
Or
B) wants retailers to have free access

What does he want to continue? It isn't clear to me the side he is supporting.

Well, to ne truthful, last year Olo had ~50% of his goals at 5v5, no? (I didn't look it up, going off memory)

The 2nd line has been bad offensively. They are providing almost no offense.

They are getting worse results than Johansson/Skinner/Sobotka last year.

It's great that Olofsson can rack up points with Eichel, Reinhart, Hall, and Dahlin. The team has the same issue as last year. Only one line is a legitimate threat to score

9 at EV last year

His 5 on 5 goals/60 was 13th on the team last year.

Behind prolific goal scorers Curtis Lazar and Evan Rodrigues

I think that's why they tried Hall on the 2nd line a little bit yesterday. I'm with you though. I'd love to see Skinner on the 1st line (or the 2nd for that matter) but that's not a synergy move so it's not going to happen. It's Ralph's world, we're all just living in it

Move Hall down, move Cozens to L2, move Skinner up

Put Okposo with Lazar and Sheahan and move Olofsson with Eakin and Rieder

But they don’t like Skinner, and are seemingly afraid Cozens is actually good

How about those faceoff stats so far, though. 😳

Eichel over 52%, Staal over 53% and everyone's whipping boy, Eakin, at 60%.

They've got 3 guys in the top 44.

Last year the idea was that we couldn't have one good line with Skinner, Jack and Reinhart because had to have two good lines, this year we can't have two good lines because we have to have 3. Ralph has a tendency to spread things too thin. He's constantly trying to ignite one more line than possible and it ends up smothering all of them. I would love to see a lineup with the best players in the best places but we're not allowed to have nice things
