Duchene is owed $41 mil over the rest of his deal(I took out his bonus this year as it’s already been paid)

Skinner is owed $54.5 mil over the rest of his deal(same parameters as above)

I feel (as you said) Ralph will use Duchene properly compared to Skinner.

You can leave Duchene exposed in the expansion draft whereas Skinner has to be protected.

It’s a win/win, at least that’s how I see it.

This is a well thought out post. 👍

What does Buffalo have to add? Something to offset the $?

Would Nashville need to protect skimmer after he waives out of buffalo? That would probably cost something too?

Absolutely, spiteful executive orders.

His turn to do what he wants 🛎

Legalize marijuana in the first week looks bad.
Kinda like a brown suit or $7,000 rolex.

I am pretty sure if the player waives his NMC for a trade, he then loses his NMC

side note, Skinner can waive his NMC at the time of the expansion draft as well, if he wants out of buffalo

The way I understand it is that it becomes a team option whether to honor it after the trade. So hypothetically a player could say: I will waive to come to you, but only if you agree to honor my NMC

I think that’s correct

It would be an interesting swap, but I think it depends on if they view Cozens as a long term center or winger

He looks good on the wing right now

What is a No-Move Clause (NMC)?
A No-Move Clause (NMC) can be added to a player's contract in the years after they are eligible for Group 3 Unrestricted Free Agency (7 Accrued seasons or 27 years of age), and has the following properties:
Player cannot be traded without his consent (however, the clause can specify a modified no-trade clause that limits the NTC to a certain number of teams)
Player cannot be placed on waivers without his consent
Player cannot be assigned to the minors without his consent
Player is not exempt from a buyout or contract termination
The clause can travel with the player even if he consents to being traded or is claimed on waivers
This requires that the acquiring team sign an addendum to the contract ensuring that the clause does in fact travel with the player (written by the player's agent)
If the acquiring team refuses to sign the addendum, and the player waives his clause anyway, at that point the clause may be nullified
If the player is traded before the clause takes effect, the acquiring team can opt to void the clause

I’m confused why St Louis fans keep saying he’s not good defensively. Still, he gets about as big of advantage in zone starts I’ve ever seen, and this year has been terrible to the point of a benching. I still wouldn’t give up Buf first for him, but I also may be gun shy from ever trading that with where we’ve been for 10+ years
- SDSabre

Berube thinks he isn't good defensively either.
Pretty charts though.

The bolded is the part I was referencing. If you click on the clause of an individual player on cap friendly, it gives details and sometimes it'll say "club has elected not to honor the ntc." So I'm pretty sure it's a club option with backroom deals

I cant think of a player off the top of my head to show you.

Typically a players NTC/NMC voids when a player is moved.

The team trading for said player has the option to retain the players NTC/NMC if they choose to. Sometimes it’s the only way a deal can be completed.

The team can ask a player if he will.

It’s up to the player unfortunately.

Robyn Regehr was asked to waive to come to Buffalo.

I’m pretty sure they honored the NTC/NMC when he was here.

It used to be like you said, now, u der the new CBA it travels with the contract...

NHL CBA Player Movement Changes
No movement clauses or no-trade clauses will now travel with players, even if they agree to lift it once. The acquiring team was previously required to agree to keep the NMC or NTC, but now it’s automatic.

I had no idea the character of Ken Rosenberg became a live action character on a show after Vice City until just now. Weird.

Nevermind. Theyre talking about Bill Fichtner. Disregard

Excellent vice city reference though.

Sean Penn’s character in Carlito’s Way is the basis for Ken Rosenberg in Vice City.

They even sounded the same.

So the sabres need to get a big W tonight. Keep the steak going.

Based on how we played in the 1st and 2nd ..... we should get the win.

If we play like we did in the 3rd. We will lose
