I mentioned this around comment 3200, and one more Garth pun title might push us all over the edge

Would help, but it's not like he's been any better in the Dzone.
- Buff36

Agreed, but he is young and impressionable. Time to pair him with someone who can play a bit of defense to help him learn and cover so he can make some more runs with confidence it won’t cause a goal against if he does

In plain English the Sabres are playing games systematically to win 2-1.

Which won’t work if our goalies don’t make the saves they need to.

We can’t open things up because we can’t score 5v5 right now because we truly only have one good forward line.

Our depth is out scoring it’s expected goals and I don’t expect that continue, on the contrary the Eichel line is vastly underperforming there expected goals so when both have a regression to the mean we are going to be in the same situation we are now.

That’s why I mentioned last night in a reply to Homie that I’m hoping we can hang in there until game 25-30 and Adams can make a move here to bring in another forward to help push us into the top 4

- Pegullaville

IMO, They don't need to open it up...from my eye test only.
The opportunities are there, they just aren't cashing in on them....Eichel, Hall, Skinner at 5v5, add in Sam, Olofsson and Staal as well...3 G's between them at 5v5 in 7 games is putrid at best...$39m for that?

life is too short

when they got hall, there was no money for a

Hutton has been fine in 2 of 3 starts
ullmark has been fine

could they be better, yes

so could 17 of the 18 skaters

and the coach

look at the roster, what is the weakest link?
anyone can see it

now go off with more all cap posts

Don’t take your bad day (or whatever your problem is) out on me

There is Cap money for a goalie upgrade
Currently 1.8mil in space
Ship out Hutton is another 2.8mil
That’s 4.6mil
Kuemper- for example- has a cap hit of 4.5mil
Also, Girgs could be put on LTIR
That could add another potential 2.2mil

6.7mil is more than enough space to upgrade in goal

Agree, bad thing is they don't have that player on the roster yet.

Whos taking hutton though?? Im all for the upgrade but I don't think Arizona takes him unless were shipping a first and a prospect and I don't see us doing that as were missing 3 picks in the next 2 years

Beat me to it. Gotta break up Dahlin and Miller. Put Dahlin with McCabe and Risto with Miller
- lulags

I doubt they’re gonna pair 2 lefties & 2 righties together

And why do u wanna break up McCabe-Risto?
They’ve been great together this year

Shouldn't break them up but we do need to break up Dahlin and Miller or trade Miller and get a good partner for Dahlin.

It's for nothing less than a top line D or F, though.

1- if Hutton’s playing as well as Homie thinks,
then he shouldn’t be hard to trade

2- even if we can’t move him, 1.8m + 2.2m from LTIR Girgs give us over $4mil
If we want to fit in Kuemper, we just have to wait till after ARZ’s 7th game for his Cap hit to prorate to $4mil for the rest of the season
*they’ve played 7, so we’re fine to squeeze him in

3- other players can be traded- teams are always looking for RH defensemen for example

And it doesn’t HAVE to be Kuemper either, he’s just the example i keep using bc he’s easily the best who has been rumored to be available

I think your dismissing the shootout

ullmark got them the win sunday from that alone, and his play in the shootout friday justified another win we should of had but the playmakers paid big money let us down in that shootout

- homiedclown

Remember Lehner is shootouts.... that was fun...

If only we could bring Irbe in as a “consultant” for the goalies this year, that dude is a goalie whisperer!

Nobody is taking Hutton without a sweetner, you are correct.
Now add in the cost for a Goalie with say .920+ and positive GSAA...whew!

That makes sense
I’d try Risto with Jokiharju or Montour then

Trading Miller could open more Cap space as well depending what we bring back for him

What do we do with our defense then?
I know Dahlin hasn’t played well this season,
but that’s a big hole to fill

I’d love Kreider from them if they keep some salary
He brings a physical presence at forward we could really use

simple question

would you say hutton was good in game 2 and 3, simple yes or no is all you need to reply with

you must have a great life as your goal for this entire month is to bash hutton and get on your knees for kuemper

any realistic goaltending help will come from johansson or 6k and with hutton playing fine in 2 of 3 starts, nothing is going to change in the short term
