Why would Vegas do this?
- Slump Buster

They get out of Fleurys contract.
Buffalo gets out of Okposo contract.

Salary is a wash.

They tried to give MAF away with picks attached to him, they ain’t getting anything remotely good for him.

It is foolish to look past a goaltending upgrade. It should be the number one priority. Carter hutton is a below average goaltender for his career who put together 2 average years followed by a great contract year prior to signing here. As a sabre its

.908
.898
.899

- ieetbred

huttons numbers before the sabres got him

16-17 .913 save % 2.39 gaa
17-18 .931 save % 2.09 gaa

hardly average numbers

I thought it was a decent proposal. Both are cap dumps. Vegas can use some depth, we can use a goaltender...so swap albatross contracts, why not?

I don’t think it’s so much a numbers thing... I think it’s more about the untimely goals he let’s in.

that's usually how they work

the better the team, the better the goalie stats

pretty much true for every goalie I have seen not named Dom

The Sample sizes in terms of games played and variation of teams is too small to draw meaningful conclusions at this point. The Sabres are 6/9 on the PK which sucks, but it's unlikely to continue at 66%

The data will settle down around the 3 week mark i think. By that time everyone will have played everyone

I don't think Hutton is good on a good team anymore. That was on one of the best defensive teams of the decade. He was very very sheltered there.

Not sure why they would do that. They get Okposo but now they need another goalie.

Does this just apply to Hockey?
Or

The better the team, the better the qb stats?

Maybe a trade of a couple of players plus a goalie move wakes this team up and gets them headed in the right direction ?

I'll Set em' up, knock em's down flaccoville 👊

I really think dahlin is going to break thru tonight offensively. 2 or 3 points tonight.

Hughes has really turned it on
Nico is getting closer to returning which will help and bratt is in the NHL protocol so should be ready soon ish

No word on vats

But the devil's have looked good so far

Lost in shootout to Boston
Won in OT vs Boston
Won vs rival rangers
Lost to isles after finding out blackwood is on protocol list
Won vs isles

So it's not like the devil's have played weak teams as isles and Boston are top teams in the league

Yes it's very early and don't expect the devil's to keep it up but they have looked good so far

- dmarsden2988

That’s all fair, & I’m happy for ya
But I’d think the Devils are in a similar situation to the Sabres in that they’ll have to play well for a lot longer for anyone to believe it
No shame in being hopeful your team has turned the corner though
That’s what we are all wishing for the Sabres too

Its not good enough under any circumstance, there is no reason to believe it will change and we are wasting an opportunity in a short season with what appears to be a competitive offense when eichel hall and skinner get going

How does going off such a small sample size make ANY sense?

It would be like me saying that Lazar is a better goal scorer than Eichel

Come on now sir
