Sure, but my points are:

2- the goaltending won’t hold up

It’s pretty easy to see we have more talent up front (MUCH more) than in net

Cherry picking stats from a 4game sample size doesn’t provide much insight for me to go off of

Giving up way too much for PLD
He’s a “good” 60point player, not a “great” player

- jdfitz77

In the Torts system, and probably in Ralph's too.

Elsewhere his offensive ceiling would be higher

He's also 22 and not a finished product yet.

I wonder about Ralph's system and how much the goaltending inadequacies play into it.

Would he and the players be more aggressive offensively if they felt more confident in the ability of their goaltenders to make tough saves?

No, u absolutely can’t
It’s way too small of a sample size

Are u gonna say Lazar out scores Jack & Hall this year too?

Reasonable, but still guesswork as opposed to being proven
And i don’t know that’s valid when determining the trade value of him

I’m not willing to pay the value of what he MIGHT be, IF he played on Tampa, Colorado, etc
I’ll let someone else overpay for him if that’s what it takes
I have faith that Cozens will be a good 2C for us
So I’m not desperate for PLD by any means

Great point
I’ve mentioned this as well

With a better goalie, we won’t need to play such a “defensive system”

Would be tough to explain trading a goalie whose father just passed away after emphasizing the importance of team camaraderie and “family” in the media.
- Pegullaville

Well, it takes 18 months for a trade to happen, so maybe they had something together prior to the unfortunate passing of ullmark's father.

My guess, is he was sick prior to getting here late?

I mean you remind us daily how our goalies suck

and they put up close to vezina like numbers in the last 3 games

and it's not like we were playing the hawks in those games

If special teams actually mattered we may be in a better position.

The PP looks really bad given the talent they are putting out there.

The PK hasn’t been good for as long as I remember.

Whoever is in charge of special teams, should be relieved of such duties.

Olofsson is bad, Borgen is an unknown, and a 1st.

For a top 5 goalie I'd do that, so Anaheim probably wouldn't

I honestly have no idea what the trade market is for a top goalie

- sbroads24

Olofsson is bad 😀

This will re surface again ☝️

What's not to like out of a 2nd year guy?
He did have a bad last outing.

So far, Ralph's system has allowed the players to average almost 34 shots per game, good for 7th in the league. I'd hardly consider that paltry.

He’s been incredibly bad at 5 on 5 this year

It’s not impressive to score a few points when you’re on the ice with Eichel, Reinhart and Hall when the other team is missing a guy

and all 3 of his points came when we had an extra skater on the ice this year

he does have the best shot on the team though, they need to get him the puck in the slot during 5 on 5 play

U can’t ignore the obvious & still make a compelling point

If u think these goaltending numbers will hold up,

Best shot on the team that he can’t get off at EV

4 shots on goal in 4 games 5 on 5

12th on the team and he’s a top 6 forward.

He’s not a good player yet, if he ever becomes one

I mean they all count the same and I would say having an elite shot is impressive.

However I do agree with your overall view point. I was holding out some hope that he would come further along at 5v5 after more time to acclimate to the NHL game however it has not materialized.

Olofsson is the Swedish Mike Hoffman.

I wouldn’t pay him any more then what he’s making either. He’s a 3rd line winger who can feast on special teams

Agreed but I’d say Hoffman does more at EV.

When Curtis Lazar and Tobias Reider are getting more shots and chances 5 on 5 than you, it’s an issue
