That is pretty good

To be honest. This is on the players from what I saw. This is play where the players have to decide to give 100% every shift and make something happen. There were almost zero times someone drove the play in the game. No passion, no hustle, irresponsible with the puck and sloppy.
If I was playing tonight I would be ashamed of my play. But for now, I will weep while on the toilet and call it a night. Ugh.

True, but when in game where you see none of your players driving plays and taking dumb penalties, there is only so much a coach can do. No is where the work needs to happen.

I believe he was referring to lack of ice time due to way too many penalties. When you take that many penalties it reduces playing time of players that need to be on the ice.

That was simply unacceptable. This team, with so much excitement around it, was just outclassed by the other team in town.

Panarin, Kakko, Kreider, Trouba, Fox. Can point the finger at just about anyone. JJ was not the issue tonight, but he comes just as billed. Just plain ol’ stinky doo doo bad.

I hope Quinn has what it takes to get these guys going. It’s only game one, so enough time to right the ship. After all, the only way is up!

Isles also have nearly the same team as last season. Definitely not excusing the lack of effort, Isles have better chemistry.

If they come out flying and look ready, then we can chalk it up to the 1st game. If they play the same, there may be some red flags for coaching and leadership.
