I'd say you're on point there. I'd rather not force Anderson's nickname, let something come when it comes - Takemedrunkimhome
Right now, just call him Mr.Anderson |

Kotkaniemi was noticable and impactful on every single shift. I don't know where to start on a comment like this because it almost brings me to the dreaded "did you even watch the game?" stuff. - Takemedrunkimhome
Armia was holding their whole line back, move him to the 4th, promote Byron. |

He was 1 for 9 in face-offs and had no shots on goal.
So my opinion is not valid if I give credit to Suzuki, Anderson and Romanov but I didn't watch the game if I thought KK was invisible?
Even though I said you would have probably won if we didn't get the lucky break?
Interesting. - Rang
I expected more of someone who played the start of the season in Finland and is supposed to be in mid-season form compared to guys with 2 weeks of training camp under their belt.

So you listed stats. Great. Did you watch the game? Now I'm actually asking if you watched it seriously. Kotkaniemi drew two penalties, played physical and dominated on the boards, carried his line and set up Toffoli for high danger scoring chances on numerous occasions. Your observations on Suzuki, Anderson and Romanov sound like somebody who read a recap and looked at the box score. If you watched the game you'd know the impact Kotkaniemi had |

I'll give Armia another game or so but I agree and wouldn't hesitate as Kotkaniemi doesn't need to do all the liftiny if the Habs have pieces now who can contribute |

Yeah, of course, I don't think CJ will change anything after only 1 game where they played pretty well. Wait for another 1-2 games and make the appropriate lineup changes. Evans could also be replaced by Poehling if he can't win faceoffs. |

Armia should look at Perry and Byron and think to himself, I'm in a contract year and they have decent replacement options on the team. Either play like a bull every night or expect to play for cheap somewhere else next year |

Thoughts about last night.
-Not a bad first NHL game for Romanov, I thought he handled himself well. Just a few moments where he looked like he panicked a bit, but again, building chemistry with his new teammates will go a long way in the upcoming weeks. I thought he looked a bit lost in the 3 on 3 overtime.
-Josh Anderson: I still don't like that contract, but like I said earlier, he's the kind of guy the Habs desparately needed. He was my favorite player last night. Hopefully he's stays off the injured list for a while.
-Nick Suzuki: I was afraid of the sophomore jinx for him, looks like it's not going to be the case. He picked up where he left off this summer. He looks confident with the puck, and handles himself really well in tight areas, even in the corners for a guy that is not that big. High hockey IQ with speed and good hands. He's going to be a good player in this league for a long time.
-Tyler Toffoli: Liked what I saw from him. Nothing flashy, but you can see he's dangerous around the net. Looking forward to him building chemistry with Kotkaniemi.
-Jesperi Kotkaniemi: Looks stronger out there. Consistency is an issue here though. One shift he looks good, the next not so much. Then again, he's only 20 years old, and when the Habs drafted him, most people thought this would be the year he would make his NHL debut. It's already his 3rd NHL season. He really needs to work on faceoffs.
-Jake Evans: Did some good things, but his work in the faceoff circle was brutal. It's probably why he was warming the bench by the end of the 3rd period. Needs to get better.
-Joel Edmundson: Not really impressed, and I wasn't asking for much in his case. I hope we see a Ben Chiarot type of evolution in his case.
As for the others...that fourth line looks fast...but Byron took some headshaking decisions last night. Seemed like Lehkonen was always falling on his ass.
Armia was horrible, but it's only one game.

I would suggest Stingers recap is a far cry from KK was invisible because I read he was 1 for 9 on faceoffs but sure, play your role |
