Great back-and-forth game. I was impressed with Suzuki for sure. Edmundson is really bad - that trade and contract were big mistakes

Habs have a few sneaky-good guys up front, but I feel like if you play this game five times, the Leafs win four. Too much high-end talent. Even though he didn’t score, Matthews was the most dominant player on the ice by a mile

That's counting on the puck bouncing off the ref often quite alot.

I'm not sure about those odds.

also assuming the canadiens play their best possible game 4 more times and the leafs only waking up half way through another 4 times.

But refs

Me neither, I feel like the Habs were the better team last night.

So we agree assuming anything like one team will win 4 out of 5 games beyond this point is idiotic?

Good.

At 5 on 5. The numbers speak for themselves.

Leafs took advantage of their amazing powerplay and some puck luck, which happens.

But that's what they can do, they can turn it up in key moments and score 3 goals in 5 minutes.... but for some reason seem to wait to be in danger alot before they "turn it on".

They're a good team, they'll be good games moving forward.

Always depends on who's playing.

I'd bet a series between both teams would go more than 5 games yes.

Especially since there's no 3 on 3 in the playoffs, which clearly gives the Leafs a big advantage considering their high end talent.

I'd argue they're a mediocre team with some elite players. They're like Edmonton but with more elite players. I don't see anybody calling Edmonton a good team

For what it's worth I see the Habs as a mediocre team with less, if any, elite level players

I do believe the way these divisions are that it'll be tough to get a good idea of how good any of these teams are

Playoffs will be hard as hell to predict since all teams won't have played each other.

That's a good point. Also last night is a first game of the season, after a long lay off, with no preseason. Midway through the 3rd both teams looked exhausted. On the game winning goal Byron was like "I know I should backcheck here but I'm tired, what's the worst that could happen?"

Final 4 sure. One of the Canadian teams will make it to the final 4 the way the playoffs are setup this year

none of north division would win their normal division, maybe even finish 2nd. And 1 is a guaranteed lock for the conference finals
