Were you the guy who said Sandin was guaranteed a spot? If so what on earth gave you that idea? Same here. Going in? No such thing for any young player.

I don't think I thought it was "guaranteed" (nothing is guaranteed). When we first signed him, I read the write ups on him. Sounded like a good two way player with some offensive upside. I thought he had a strong chance to make the taxi and team to a lesser extent. Frankly, I thought he was older (like 26-28) and had more experience than the current taxi group. Also, at the time, there were some rumors that Raffl would stay in EU, we weren't sure about Nolan and Lindblom. I thought he'd beat out AA (didn't know that Morin was going to make the switch to forward either).

Unless I'm mistaken, you literally said he was guaranteed a spot. We even argued about. Forgive me if I'm mistaken and it was someone else. I think it was pretty clear that he had an uphill battle to make the team out of camp. There were no legit rumors that Raffl wasn't coming back. Patrick is a center.

Any thought that he had any kind of a guarantee or high odds of making it was very shortsighted.
