I dare you to go re read the threads back in March.

At the risk of sounding like a guy wanting to storm the Capitol:
I'm uncomfortable with Milbury losing his job due to his fairly innocent comments last August.
His job is to say interesting things - that's what colour commentators do.
He said there were no women in the bubble to distract the players.
It was a stupid thing to say.
He doesn't deserve to lose his job over it. - Atomic Wedgie
That's cancel culture for you. |

Maybe that was the final straw.
Probably related to a history dumb things he has said. |

You guys already discuss the expected Leaf lineup?
Jonas Siegel
@jonassiegel
Leafs down to one group today. Appears this is the starting roster:
Thornton-Matthews-Marner
Vesey-Tavares-Nylander
Mikheyev-Kerfoot-Hyman
Barabanov-Spezza-Simmonds
Robertson-Brooks-Boyd
Rielly-Brodie
Muzzin-Holl
Dermott-Bogosian
Sandin-Lehtonen
Andersen-Campbell

I give it about 5 games before either Vesey or Thornton are moved down in the lineup. - Leafs43
I think Thornton gets moved up and down over the course of a game. He doesn’t get full first line starts and will sit for D zone face offs. My guess is that they go with Vesey and do a bit of rotating with Barabanov and Robertson for most of the season. Same thing with Dermott, Sandin, Bogo and Lehtonen until Lehtonen becomes completely familiar with the ice, etc

Jays talks with LeMahieu have picked up.
Probably will end up as second behind whoever signs him
We'll see.

Of all the guys the Jays have been linked to, he's probably near the bottom of the list of who I want them to sign. |

I agree with you Wedgie, he was maybe the worst GM in NHL history but did call out Pierre McGuire quite nicely here.

Why are you afraid of the free and open debate of ideas? Look what happened when they tried to stop those people from walking in and exercising their right to debate their opinions in Congress on Wednesday. |

I mean, he's not even wrong, really. All (most, I guess) young, rich athletes love to go out and have a good time. Women and booze and cocaine are at the top of hockey players lists.
For sure he shouldn't have said it, though. |

Makes sense.
My theory is Vesey was promised he would start in the top 6 - so that is why he is in the top 6. Unless he produces at a high rate in the first few games I think hes going down the lineup.
I only expect Thornton to get 15 minutes or so per game, so can see Hyman moving up for extra shifts with Marner/Matthews.

Should've let them have their second amendment rights last Wednesday too!
Would've turned out just wonderfully. |

Oh...I just thought it was because he was bad. When he first started he would make comments about other GM’s bad decisions.

It's probably a glitch.
But I did see a theory the other day that Trump should step down and allow Pence to become President. Pence would then (unfortunately) pardon Trump.
Pence is then the president for a week or so and gets secret service protection for life (I guess VPs don't get that). Which would be a great benefit to him given he was a target on Wednesday.

I sincerely doubt that Pence pardons him now.
He did try to incite a mob to kill him.
No, really. |
