To be clear, I think she is a good reporter.
The reason I'm posting her tweets is because I follow her.
All reporters in all sports do it, and I'm just tired of it (the worst being the on-field interviews as the football coaches run to the dressing room at half time).
My message to Ms. Shilton and others:
Quit posting what John Tavares says about the upcoming season. Hell, quit even asking the question.
Instead, please let us know what you think about John Tavares and the upcoming season. - Atomic Wedgie
I watched the presser after the Raptor game last night, too lazy to turn the channel. It’s cringeworthy TV. I’m embarrassed for them.

bolded is not true.
the vaccines currently being rolled out are not infection blocking vaccines - but focused on reducing severity of disease. - MaximusAurelius
There is no such thing as an "infection blocking" vaccine. They all prepare your immune system to react to infection. They have different ways of doing so, but they are essentially all intended to do the same thing.

he definitely is.
there is 0 data to back up that statement.
if so, I'd invite him to present it at a WHO daily briefing. - MaximusAurelius
I literally described how vaccines work. I am however not positive that there is actually *any* window where you would be spreading it, that was a "worst case" scenario where your immune response was still slow and the virus was especially aggressive. That is the kind of thing we will need time and data to make certain.

That's what the Athletic is for, or other publications where they pay analysts for additional insight.
I think a lot of reporters like Shilton and her ilk are basically sharing in a mutually beneficial position that makes her a glorified PR person that advertises for her company and the Leafs while building up credentials to one day jump into a better media opportunity.
For all of us who are tired of the same old trope, we should remember that the same old trope is new stuff to a lot of young hockey fans who are excited by this news about their favourite players and teams. It's why the All-Star game is important for new and young fans. I wish there was a format that was enticing for everyone, but for now I can accept that the All-Star game and this PR reporting as being good for the growth of the game and the young fans.

Who is wearing Muzzin's sweater for the Leafs? - Aetherial
Aren't they naming a trophy after him or at least retiring his number?

I noticed that the lack of live sports during COVID really separated the good writers from the not so good writers.
