Pretty good article on Matthews working with an insane fitness guru this offseason.

He’s lost 15 pounds of body fat while maintaining all his strength and energy levels.

Same guy who worked with Patty Kane 2 years ago when he blew up from 70 to 110 points.

I used to work with a woman who lived in a condo next to the ACC.

She would hear the crowd roar about 5-10 seconds before you'd see the Leafs score on TV.

Vaccination doesn't stop you from getting it and carrying it, thus then spreading to others who aren't vaccinated. It only stops you from experiencing symptoms

Until large portions of population are vaccinated it won't matter

same precautions until at least 60% of population (worldwide!) is vaccinated -- and that's hoping that the mRNA vaccines continue to protect properly against the new strains.

It’s not yet proven that you can or can’t still carry the virus.

It’s really impossible to guess. It could mean vaccinated people can do more, it could mean vaccinated people have more restricted rules if they are asymptomatic but still carry it.

Who knows at this point, things will change as we go along.

The vaccine only protects you. It does not protect you from spreading it.

I’m not going to try and say I know exactly what this means...but this will change things for Matthews on the ice.

It’s pretty insane what that guy and Matthews did this offseason, anyone with an ounce of fitness knowledge will find that impressive.

I watch the odd KHL game, DAZN baby gotta get that moneys worth.

That being said I've maybe seen Lehtonen play 3 times. I think he's way better in his own end than he gets credit for being (especially for a leftie playing the right). But none of it means anything until he proves he can transition.

Also that being said, he can't prove poop if he doesn't play. 🤷‍♂️
