I like Raffl but I'd rather see Frost on that line as he has more offensive upside - Frost, Laughton and NAK would be a good 3rd line let alone 4th.

I think we're in a good position either way. Raffl was really solid in the RTP and playoffs IMO. As long as Frost gets to play, I think it'll be fine whether that's as a phantom or a flyer. There will be injuries and we'll need him sooner rather than later.

I wonder how many claims overall will be made really.
- Hextall271

Probably not many with the flat cap and the rules that apply to waiver claims.

Theres ton of names out there. Josh ho sang. Lilgren. Cory perry. Michael frolik. Among others. Be hard pressed to see any of our guys taken. Lyon would be my only worry as he's proven nhl capable and a ton of goalies opted out or retired or had out of nowhere heart conditions.

Liljegren from the leafs is on waivers? 2017 pick.. dman. I thought the leafs were high on him. with their sad D corps this surprises me but I haven't been watching him closely.

According to capfriendly, Sandin doesn’t require waivers. Is it possible they go with 12 forwards on the roster since they will have the taxi squad available if need be?

Taxi squad doesn't travel. So no. I doubt it. I expect bunny to make the 13th spot.

Bunny just makes the most sense. If any guys need a maintenance night off you slide him in at 4c and utility knife laughton moves anywhere you need him. Frost needs games and time. Hes not too far off imo

There is not an AHL for a month plus, why would Frost not be the first guy in?

I think you’re right. I’m happy with the forward depth, and if it becomes needed, they are set.

Is there anyone on waiver for which we should consider claiming if possible?

I would rather keep the cap space and the NHL roster spot and roll with who we have.

Nobody that would be more than a marginal improvement over what we have imo.

You claimed he needs games...if anyone can’t play he should for sure be the first person plugged in. Especially if it’s a top 9 guy out.

No idea but just another reason why this guy isn’t in the lineup, he’s never healthy.

Rumor is covid contact tracing. But nobody within the nhl can confirm until game 1 official injury report.

Not expecting anyone to be out in the first 2 weeks. Top line minutes and all situations hockey in the ahl will be better for him. Laughton is a more proven top 9 option to frost right now anyway and frost didn't exactly blow the doors off in camp or last night.

Agreed. Injuries recent couple of seasons. He’s coming off two rough seasons in terms of generating offense. I personally think he’s a liability in his own zone. Fans are really reaching back to three or four years ago of greatness, which I’m tired of listening to. His offense when breaking into the league outweighed any errors he made, which isn’t the case anymore.

Lol HF board is living in 2016, I think they are more pessimistic than folks on here. This guy finally seemed to be looking good and then gets “injured”, can’t make it up.
